Oh Coyotefan what to do with you. On one hand you are possibly a Yote fan, I have serious doubts, so i want to you to stay on board. On the other hand......well, I just don't want to wast the time. Admin, is there a way to get an ignore feature? I completely agree. I believe I actually suggested that to him yesterday. For god sakes don't read my crap if you don't have to, it will probably drive you nuts. Maybe all you ignore guys can have a section in the dome together called the no expectations section. Win or lose we don't really care, it doesn't really matter all that much. As long as we can watch USD lose to SDSU we will be happy everytime. Once every 8 years would be an acceptable ratio of winning a game. Afterall we are "one year away". We have been every year since 1986. Since we are now conference peers of SDSU and NDSU we need to have our athletic department be at least as good as the both of them. We will have some sort of commissioners cup in the Summit to gauge. USD will do just fine in the Summit and MVFC. Track and Field will do the best right away, IMO. Yotes/Bison will be the best 2 in the Summit now that USD is in.....Bison will finally have some competition. FB will struggle for a few yrs. The MV is a "meat-grinder" with every team capable of winning each week....this year is a good example. Bison fans, and this one, expect to win every game no matter who we play. Good to have the Yotes in the Summit and MVFC.

Good to have the Yotes in the Summit and MVFC. I know I am very excited to have the Yotes in the MVFC and Summit. As for the MVFC, I want USD to have the attitude they should win every game and play that way. Disappointing sometimes when you see how far the program is from getting there on the field, in the stands, and in terms of budget/donations. Have always admired the attitude of NDSU and UNI. SDSU seems to have set their expectations there as well. USD fans need to change theirs as well, or they should prepare themselves to be competing at the bottom of the conference rankings page. I know some will say, it has nothing to do with the fans and everything to do with the field on the team. True, but I would submit that fan bases and Universities usually get the teams on the field/court that they deserve. In terms of support for FB at USD where would USD rank against NDSU, SDSU, UND, UNI, Southern Illinois? All of us on this board - a pretty small group really if you just count the USD posters need to do what we can to get more people (former alumni) and casual fans to some games. Long road ahead - Hope we can double our season tickets from 1300 to 2600 for 2011. Double again for the MVFC season opener to 5200 season tickets. We need that kind of growth just to keep up, and just keeping up is a weak goal if you ask me. Also, I will post more on this later, but USD will be starting a program to increase former athletes interaction with the University. Some great ideas being floated right now. What percentage of former USD athletes are Howling Pack members do you think? A shameful level considering you can join at $100 as a white level member. If you think that $100 would not make a difference to the University, you are incorrect. The University looks at Howling Pack memberships as a gauge of true interest in the programs. If you are a former athlete at USD and want to talk about it and brainstorm strategy in the planning stages, send me a pm. More to come soon.

I don't know what the DakotaDome holds (10K??) but 5K season ticket holders seems like a very attainable goal. Students make a college FB atmosphere, so I am sure there will always be a good # of seats for them.
Can more seats be added to the DD?? Maybe 10K is perfect......10K people making a lot of noise is more impressive than 20K quiet ones....
Nice to have another bus ride to a conference foe as compared to a chartered flight.....

DakotaDome is set for expansion with the BB arena project. USD is looking hard at what UNI did in connecting the FB/BB arenas. If done they expect 16k range for capacity. That is needed especially for our FB games against SDSU, NDSU, and UNI where I would expect all to travel well and bring fans of their own. Should be a great set of games that can develop into fun rivalries.
