Found this tweet yesterday: Stu Whitney @stuwhitney Mar 10
That's the breaks. MT @sabecke: I set over-under at 3000 for finals with USD in it. 1/2 SDSU fans. Would be sold out the other way around.Over. Under. What a crap article by Stu in the Argus this morning, cant stand the guy. He couldn't stand the fact that SDSU was absent yesterday, so he did what he could to mention them as much as possible and undermine USD as much as possible. The guy is a hack.

Could someone provide a link to the SportCenter top 10 with USD v. Denver?

Just want to clarify this again: that tweet from Stu was a Modified Tweet of @sabecke. I'm not a Stu apologist AT ALL. Making sure the facts are clear, though. @sabecke made the 3000 prediction. Stu retweeted after modifying it slightly.

I also am not a Stu apologist, but I thought his article was positive with regards to USD. SDSU has had more success at the D1 level, to this point in time, in the 3 sports that receive the most press coverage, that being football, MBB & WBB. That success is to be expected as they went D1 before the Yotes. The basic points of Stu's column were (1)It was a big W for the Yotes (it was), (2)it was a great gathering for Coyote fans at the Arena, (still not at the levels of SDSU, but damn it was great to see all the red in the Arena yesterday and to hear the fans crank up the volume) and (3) USD has closed the gap. I thought overall the Argus, along with all the Sioux Falls media, did a great job with the tournament. It also goes without saying that the Yankton Press & Dakotan, once again, continued their great coverage of the Yotes.

What a tremendous victory for our Lady Coyotes. It is amazing how in 3 days a season can go from very average to one that will be remembered for a long time for it's positives. March madness at it's best. Congradulations to all the players that played a hand in completing a remarkable run. Amy Williams sure has a sense for good timing. She has her team playing the best when it counts the most. That is great coaching. The NCAA Tourney is going to be great because there really isn't much pressure especially as something around a 15 seed. This run will go along way towards the future as well. Things are looking bright for USD Women's Basketball.

I'm trying hard not to comment on the Argus coverage, but my one request would be for them to just drop the "big upset", "surprise" when the Yotes beat State in Womens BB. I totally understand and respect what AJ and the Jacks have accomplished, and I doubt it will ever be repeated by another team in the Summit. I didn't even mind rehashing what State had accomplished in the article about USD's win, it set a good backdrop for the story.
But this whole "shock & awe" thing, I don't get that. This is one program, in my opinion, has been ready for D1 competition right from the beginning. I mean Amy Williams is 5-1 in Summit League Tourney play, and the one loss was narrow, and to use an Argus phrase that they have ready for the Jackrabbit defeats, the Yotes were just "a bad day" from being a perfect 6-0 and back to back champs.
I'm not saying I knew the Yotes would defeat State, but I knew we were evenly matched to make a great showing!
And that they did!

If you Goggle Argus Leader sports that link has 6 sub links two of which have to do with college sports. One is labeled College sports and the other is South Dakota State. Makes you wonder why state is listed or why USD is not?

Because Google operates on tracked activity. Unfortunately, SDSU gets more hits - because Terry V. uses pictures and videos for them.

canislatransI agree. This whole "Miracle on Ice" comparison is really a bad analogy. Its not like the Yote women didn't have a chance to beat State. I felt we had a strong chance of winning, or at least it would be a close game. I understand that USD athletics are slightly "behind" State right now, but we are still in the transition and have had success already. For the women to win the SL tournament in their second year of eligibility is a great thing to hang our hat on. Hopefully it will stir up our fan base that to me has seemed somewhat dormant during the transition. Winning will always increase a fan-base's interest. I hope the national exposure will help the university as a whole in regard to recruiting. Recruits want to play for winning teams, and this exposure will only help. Go Yotes!
