i'm going to start this on here so hopefully other people will post about movies they've seen and whether they are any good or not. watched nebraska the other night, hard to watch at first but got better towards the end, but they made a trip into south dakota and saw the coyotes sign on the interstate, thought that was pretty cool.

Pompeii had really good special effects and the story was good. If you liked Gladiator you'd like Pompeii. Thought the Monuments Men was a disappointment, i.e. when they landed at Omaha Beach there was no wreckage, etc. Looked more like Long Beach (maybe it was)!

I can't believe someone hit on the only non Disney (by the way, Frozen really isn't too bad as far as the princess movies go) movie I've seen at the theater in the last 3 years. Monuments Men had no identity to me. I couldn't tell if I was watching a comedy, drama, war movie, or documentary. They just threw a bunch of stars and used to be stars up on the screen and hoped it would work. I didn't care for it either.

Haven't seen any new movies in a while, but I did watch Ghostbusters last night. Bill Murray's dry humor gets me every time.

watched grudge match last night and it was bad from beginning to end. i laughed a couple of times and the fight scene at the end did have a good part to it, but really bad acting from a bunch of good actors. i rent movies from netflix and i read the reviews from other people and couldn't believe what i was reading, which is why i hoped this would help me and others to not waste their time. after rereading this, and knowing how i am, if i saw this review i would have still watched it at some point and time, and still would have been disappointed. sorry for the rant, just wanted to explain.

Gods Not Dead was the best movie I have seen in ages. Not sure it's still in theatres, but if so, I highly recommend it.

watched saving mr. banks( its about walt disney trying to get the movie rights to mary poppins), and philomena( a older lady trying to find her son who was taken from her while at a boarding school when she was a teenager). if u want to watch a story about a very picky english lady and disney trying to please her, this movie is for u, tom hanks was in it but i did not find it entertaining at all. philomena was a good movie, it was english but wasn't too hard to understand.

Saw three movies recently and for some reason I feel the need to share.
Nebraska - the picture was in black & white which diminished it a bit in my opinion (why does Hollywood so often depict the beautiful Midwest in such drab tones?). Anyway, early in the show the main characters traveled from Billings, MT through Rapid City on their way to the Cornhusker State. Mt. Rushmore appeared briefly (but drably) as well as - get this - a billboard featuring the Coyotes! Verdict: C+; not sure USD benefitted from the exposure.
God is Not Dead - good in spots, not so good in others. The 'not so good' stems from the too numerous sub-plots. The movie's central theme is the debate between a student who maintains that God is not dead and an atheist professor. Wish they would have developed that storyline more. Verdict: B-; more debate, less proselytizing.
The Budapest Hotel - simply put: don't stay there. I think it was a comedy but could easily be convinced it was a tragedy. No chuckles from the audience, maybe a cough or two. Not funny or interesting. Verdict: F; really. Shame on me for agreeing to go...
Since I'm older and think myself wiser it's pretty hard for a movie to score a A from me. Of course, these are my opinions and do not necessarily reflect the views of the posters on this board (save myself), the administrators of this board, or those who follow the Coyotes or their families.
Have a good day everyone. Can't wait for fall football camp!

i watched noah last night and was really disappointed. it was not that good and had me scratching my head at times about how life before the great flood was depicted. save your money or rental. hopefully, with football season around the corner, this thread will pick up.
