Yotes lose 4-3 in double OT to end the season. Basically as exciting as a soccer game gets, but very heartbreaking for this team. Things pointing up for the program though with all the young talent and facility.
While watching the game I looked away for about two seconds and missed the game winner. Really sums up my career as a soccer spectator.

The Lady Yotes gave NDSU all they wanted but came up a little short in the 2nd OT. Overall a great game to watch--a lot of action by both teams. Commentators mentioned that NDSU's defense had been great in the conference so for the Coyotes to get 3 goals was great! The Coyote soccer program is certainly headed in the right direction! Thank-you seniors and best of luck with your future careers!!!

It will be interesting to see where soccer goes in the next couples years. With good coaching we should be at the top of the league with everything we have to offer. FCOA and the second nicest soccer stadium behind Denver. I'm not a huge follower of soccer but believe everyone has HS equivalent stadiums except Denver and now USD (Maybe IUPUI) Not sure if anyone else including Denver has field turf or FCOA for soccer.

I'm no soccer fan either, but is field turf an advantage? I hear soccer players hate playing on turf. Higher injury rate and the ball bounces differently. Easier to maintain I suppose.

Good thing USD has turf and natural grass fields.

Good thing USD has turf and natural grass fields. The turf field is the one that they'll play their games on. The natural grass field is for practice

Towards the end of the year players like playing on turf because it doesn't get torn up like natural grass does

I'm a soccer ref and our newer turf field in Rapid City is nice. Very true bounce of the ball, much easier on the feet and legs. Can get hot on a very warm day though. Overall our players really like it.

Most soccer players I talk to prefer natural grass and to be honest the summit league is full of great soccer facilities. Fort Wayne, Denver, Omaha all have first class facilities. I would put USD, SDSU, ORU, IUPUI in the next group and NDSU and WIU as the bottom two.
It's great to see the team make the tournament and perform well in the 1st round.

Great job Lady Yotes defeating Idaho 1-0 in the first game at the new Coyote soccer complex!! This win was particularly impressive since it broke the Vandals
14 game win streak! They had won the Big Sky last year and have EIGHT returning all-conference players this year! Kudos to the USD athletic dept too for
live streaming the game!

I'm gonna be a stickler and point out that the 14 game streak was an unbeaten streak, there was at least one tie in there but no losses. Very good win. I watched the second half online after gettig home from work. Quite impressed at the quality of the stream, and I'm guessing we can anticipate that for all future matches as well. Love seeing the athletic department give this service for sports that fall outside of the big three.

I agree 100% on thanking the athletic department for the free live streaming of the game. I believe that part of the new contract with Midco was that Midco would provide the equipment to make these sort of broadcasts available.
