If UNO is any indication of what the Summit is going to be like it could be a long and trying year. I believe UNO is one of the favorites in the conference as they are a relentless team. They just keep coming at ya.

Hate to see the Yotes lose at home to start the season after looking so good in the first half. It will be interesting to read the comments from the members that were at the game. I'll be waiting.
As much as the Coyotes outplayed the Mavs in the first half it seemed they were doubled down by Omaha in the second.
To quote the usual Jack fan. "It's early, we will be ok."

It's tough to lose after playing so well for quite a bit of the game. Unfortunately the team kind of fell apart today but that was mainly due to what UNO did not what USD didn't. Maybe it was too good to be true to be up 12 points because alot of that came on some very hot outside shooting. I still believe the Yotes will be ok. They played tough for most of the game. Next up at Denver which will be another tough test.

I went to the game, decent crowd, awful atmosphere. Things I take from it..... We are a jump shooting team and will be all year as we dont have an inside presence. We shot really well in the first half and then UNO turned up their D a little and we shot a lot of contested shots that went in and out or had long rebounds that lead to transition buckets. Unfortunately UNO made A LOT of tough shots in the second half but not having a presence in the lane really hurts us. UNO drove in for lay up after lay up all night off of ball screens.
But on a positive note this is a fun Coyote team to watch. Craig Smith really has them playing hard and together. Gotta give credit to UNO and the adjustment they made on Casey at half time, he didnt get a sniff all second half. Without that third scorer we struggle often on offense.
Keep grinding Yotes, a great group of guys

Coach Smith has taken a group with not much size or talent and has them playing hard and getting the most out of them. The future of Coyote men's BB was at the game tonight as Craig's two top recruits, both 6-9 from Rochester, MN and Norfolk, NB. Two really good looking prospects that will help attract other good prospects.

I went to the game, decent crowd, awful atmosphere. This is one thing I that often gets me rooting for the red and white. The fans get up for one game a year. SDSU. Every other game. Meh.

While watching I heard more cheering for much of the game from the UNO fans than I did from the USD fans. That is embarrassing to get outcheered on your home court. If you are going to go to the game stand up and let the team know you are there supporting them. I was probably cheering louder at home than most fans that were at the game. It was a great game to watch so I don't know why there wasn't more volume from the SD fans.

I was there. Atmosphere is always lacking when the students are on break. It is what it is. For some reason I recall the band being present in past years during the holiday break. I'm probably mistaken.
UNO is a fun team to watch, and they were my dark horse pick to win the SL regular season title. The scoreboard roller coaster we witnessed Friday is not uncharacteristic of this Mavs team. They are streaky just like us. They're going to win impressively and also lose in head-scratching fashion. Once they got going that second half, we had no answer. I think UNO really clicking will be a tough out for any SL team. That doesn't take away the sting of a home loss. Now we need to go get one back on the road.

Was anyone else that was at the game bothered/confused by Omaha (and their fans) celebrating beside the court after the game like they won the national championship? I'm pretty sure those fans would've stormed the court if the team hadn't met them half way

I'm pretty sure those fans would've stormed the court if the team hadn't met them half way The rowdy Omaha group appeared to be students. They were having a good time, and the Mavs basketball players clearly appreciated their support, as it was all hugs, high fives and jumping around near the locker room entrance. Our own "Coyote Crazies" could have learned a thing or two...

Confusing for sure, but you gotta admire the energy those students brought.
