We are officially out of the running. Oral Roberts in the CBI, IPFW in the CIT, SDSU in the NIT, NDSU in the NCAA Tournament. Disappointed that IPFW got in and we were left home with a better resume. Have to wonder how much our regional isolation played into this process. Being a borderline team I could see this being the deciding factor in not getting the invite. I see IPFW is playing at Evansville, another Indiana school.

If USD was willing to go on the road for their game and travel where they needed to go I don't know why geography would be an issue. More basketball would have been nice but this is truly it for our seniors Bos, Larson and Hunter. USD being as good on the road as they were would have been a deserving participant. This doesn't take away from the progress that the Coyotes made throughout the season.

Minnesota doesn't derserve to go to the NIT. They are a CBI or CIT worthy team so they should accept the bid since that is where the level of the program is at currently. Maybe the Coyotes can get a shot at Williams Arena but if they don't want any other tourney I guess that won't happen. I don't know why programs turn down those bids. It gives a team more experience playing in games so why not take the potential of a few more games to make the team better. Teams turn it down for a number of reasons, it costs money to host the game, travel, etc. Irrelevant in Minnesota's case. But also to start on player development early, recruit while others are playing, and also most coaches find a way to make it to the tourney at some point to network. A huge part of the game in today's world particularly with the way transfers are spreading.

It's unfortunate your team didn't get in post season play.

It's unfortunate your team didn't get in post season play. Thank you. I wasn't expecting any games after the loss in Sioux Falls, but then had my hopes up for just a little more basketball.

If IPFW got in the Coyotes should have definately gotten in. I believe in most of the head to head comparisons USD was the slightly stronger team. I will actually be cheering for Oral Roberts to win and IPFW to lose. I know, I know I should cheer for the Summit but this one time I will not be routing for the Mastadons because they took USD's spot IMHO.

Don't blame IPFW, blame the system. I think their location gave them the bid what with our resumes having negligible differences and the organizing body hoping to have as many fans attend as possible. We'll almost certainly be playing after the Summit League tournament next year.
