Unbelievable offensive foul call on Seekamp with 7 seconds left. Their player jumped into her. Should have been 2 free throws and Yotes down by 1. There was no doubt. I would like a FULL explanation by the NIT as to why the Coyotes weren't the host. I've never heard of a team not being able to travel??? Maybe they'll try that same trick with UCLA?? There is no way that the Lady Yotes would have lost to this team in the Dome and if they played 8 times the Yotes would win at least 6 anywhere. No disrespect to UNC just a fact. They did play good defense.
Despite this tough loss what a GREAT YEAR ladies!!! Thank-you so much seniors and best of luck in your careers after USD!!!!

59-58 Northern Colorado wins. Honestly the Yotes didn't deserve this game. They just weren't that good today and needed to play better to pick up a win against a team I feel they are better than on a neutral floor. At the end of the season the Yotes were just too up and down. One good game, followed by a not so good game and do on. Starting with the last regular season home stand the Yotes were on and off from one game to the next and that continued in the WNIT tourney.
Nicole Seekamp will be a huge loss. She does so much on the court and is a clutch scorer. Contreras was very up and down but seemed mostly down during the last portion of the season. Loffler will also be missed as she hit alot of clutch shots when she took them.
From here on out this will truly be Amy Williams team so we will really see what her recruits can do starting next year.

UNC wins 59-58. They nearly lost the game when they were up 1 with 15 seconds left, shot clock turned off and they were shooting the ball instead of letting USD foul! Seekamp was called for a questionable charge well after her shot released with about 7 ticks. Couldn't foul fast enough and got the ball back with 2 or 3 seconds, full court heave to Seekamp who made a circus shot 2 pointer about a foot and a half inside the 3pt line to make it a 1 pt game and that's all she wrote.
Definitely gonna tough replacing Seekamp, Contreras, and Loeffler next year. Still a great year of basketball.

USD was the eastern most team in this portion of the bracket. The WNIT is ran by Triple Crown Sports which is located in Ft. Collins, CO. Northern Colorado now has to travel to 15-18 UCLA for the next game.

Fun fact: WNIT is run by Triple Crown Sports, located in Fort Collins, CO. What a fun coincidence that "severe travel issues" arise when then opposing team is located 30 miles away from the company's headquarters? Did I also mention the CEO of the company is a two-time Northern Colorado alum? I'm sure that's also just a coincidence.
I hope Herbster gives them hell for this.

Obviously a flawed system that the NIT uses. Physical location should have nothing to do with the home court decision!! And Colorado firm awards home game to a Colorado team--great.

The Coyotes had a great season and brought a ton of pride and excitement to USD and the fans. The seniors will be missed and they deserve a lot of credit for helping move USD basketball in a very positive direction. Seekamp especially should go down as one of the best USD Coyotes of all time. Looking ahead, it will be nice for USD to have a little height coming in for next year. I true inside presence is really going to help the Coyotes moving forward. Don't get me wrong, I think our posts do a great job, but they are undersized. IMO, size inside will help take some pressure off of the guards to score and/or create opportunities for the posts. That in turn should prevent the guards from being so worn down at the end of the season. Last night, no one looked like they had any legs left and when a player is that worn down, it is harder to hit the outside shots that the Coyotes have relied on all season.

The WNIT is all about making money, buying home games by submitting the highest bid. Attendence is crucial to sell enough tickets to outbid your opponent. The Jackrabbits hosted four straight games last year at Frost. Location isn't the driving force.

If I remember correctly that is pretty close to what we had at the Dome when we played Creighton. UNC used the excuse that they couldn't get flights into Sioux Falls or Omaha as the reason. Meanwhile, our team had to take 4 different flights to get home yesterday.

The Jackrabbits hosted four straight games last year at Frost. Location isn't the driving force. USD had a higher bid and way higher attendance this year than UNC then flat out lied by saying major travel issues prevent us from being a viable host (though SDSU is just as susceptible to those "travel issues" and still hosted 4 games last year). The WNIT went with full on favoritism here and it's blatant.

I am not happy about seeing the Coyotes have to travel to Greeley but at the same time I am not going to get too angry about it either. USD gets the Summit Tourney practically in their backyard and also got a favorable location in the NCAA tourney at Ames last year. The Jacks have gotten screwed every year by the NCAA committee in the NCAA tourney by getting a bad location and on the home floor of the opponent they play most of the time. Of course they have the advantage of the conference tourney and have their women's team get home games in the WNIT in almost every game they play.
The bottom line is that the Yotes just didn't bring their A game with them to Greeley and that cost them the game more than anything else. The Coyotes got many of the foul calls to go their way in the second half except for the charging call on Seekamp. I am not overly the top upset because it has really been an exciting year and I can't wait for the future of Coyote Women's Basketball. It will be interesting as Amy Williams inserts her recruits now to be major players in the program. It can be argued that she won with Ryun Williams players but now it will truly be her team, her recruits, her philosophy etc. If her players will take on her personality she will have a fiesty team, full of energy, good on defense that will be severely driven to win and be good representatives of the USD program on and off the court.
If I could fast forward the football season next fall I would in a heartbeat as it is just too painful to endure. I want it to be hoops season again. Both programs have tons of promise.

To get all of our team home, it did in fact take 4 different flights into Sioux Falls. I can sure give you the number of the AD to confirm.
