Good win for the Yotes on the road. Milwaukee is probably better than Minnesota. I guess we will find out as they play @ Minnesota on Wed. 12/23. I am taking absolutely nothing away from our dynamic road warriors but I didn't really think Milwaukee was all that great, at least not tonight. They take alot of bad shots and don't play that great of defense. They did beat Wisconsin though but everyone is beating the Badgers this year. Now onto Illinois. I think the Yotes will compete with them as well. Summit is better than the Big Sky by a mile and are surging ahead of the Horizon as well.

Hagedorn looked great tonight. Looked way different than cal st last game. He's tough to stop when aggressive and looking for his shot. Not much Burnette or Jech in OT. As good as Shy has been, the FTs are killing us. Was good to see there wasn't a drop in play after he fouled out early. Will be interesting to see these guys' roles settle in as we enter conference play in a few weeks. Smith still figuring the pieces out. We were in the lane all night long against what I thought was a relatively porous D given the big wins they had this year already.

I just love Coach Smith's giddiness after wins. He mentioned that the Coyotes were really focused in practice after the Cal State Bakersfield loss. Talked alot about the wierd play at the end of the first OT where the clock stopped. Smith is thankful they didn't count the basket.

A lot of those bad shots were the product of the coyotes defense. The game plan was obviously to pack the middle, play strong help D on drives and accept whatever results they get shooting the 3 (of which they shot 43...and not percent). So impressed with Hagedorn and even Jech. These guys will both excel in this league with the inside out ability. A good stretch 4 or 5 isnt something you see that often at this level and we have 2 of them for the next 4 years. They have some freshmen moments still, but have to love the upside. Really tough call on Hagedorn for his 5th foul, reffing was atrocious, both ways. I think CE or someone else mentioned in a preseason thread they were excited to see the jump DJ Davis made from yr 1 to 2. Well, he is really coming out of his shell. I think the Gopher game really opened the door for him to get some confidence on the offensive end and find a role overall as that tough defensive minded glue guy. He attacked the basket at will last night and showed some athletic ability in doing so. Hopefully sneak a win out of the next 2, although 2 tough games, and then a fun game in Sioux Falls to finish off nonconference.

Must have spent some time in the weight room. And E Rob is vastly improved over last year. He's really confident stroking the ball right now and has been attacking the rim much better this year.
