Here are a couple of looks at Seekamp's buzzer beater from Thursday night. The first is from my vantage point, the other is from the opposite end of the floor.

Wasn't a good overall game by the Yotes but they toughed it out. I'm sure it was a case of the Yotes looking ahead to Sunday and the Bizon wanting to knock off a top team and getting hot. When you're first or second you need to expect EVERY GAME that teams will give you their best shot! GO YOTES!!!

The Bison may be winless in the conference and not have a stellar record, but that doesn't mean they are not capable of playing good basketball. I am sure the turnovers were too high and the defense wasn't the ladies highest level, but NDSU is a more than capable team. They also were down 1 point to State with 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Let's not forget that any road win in this conference is a good win, regardless of records.

Observing from afar, I'm wondering if team chemistry or similar is raising its head.
At this point, the team seems to be underachieving. Of course, there's still a lot of season left.

Getting a 2 point double OT win against a bottom feeder Summit Team (which by the way is a weak national conference) with no conference wins may be a good result for a team looking to finish 4th or 5th in the Summit. A team that returns almost everyone with a senior laden roster who should be challenging for the conference title and a record similar to 14-2 or 13-3 should not be happy whatsoever with the result yesterday. Seekamp saved the Coyotes asses last night. NDSU is not only not good but they are short handed on top of that with barely enough players to finish the game. The Yotes simply do not play consistent defense which is something that a team can always hang their hat on. A team that relies too much on offense that has an off night is going to be in trouble. Just look at what happened against SDSU in the Summit Title game last year and then again this year at Oral Robets. No offense means no win much of the time for this team.
I like how Amy Williams is so feisty on the sidelines while coaching but I don't like her post game interviews after the Oral Roberts and NDSU games. She seemed to show little urgency in her words and her voice inflection when discussing both games after the fact. I am not saying she has to rip the team apart but please show a sense that the performances were not acceptable because if the team takes the tone of the coach I don't see this little slump being very short lived if the urgency meter does not get pumped up quite a bit. She talks defense but does she preach it? I am not so sure that is the case. That is probably the biggest difference between the Jacks and Yotes right now on that end of the court.
On Sunday I want a win obviously and it would do alot to get this team going again. If a win is not in the cards I hope the Yotes lose the game by 30 points. Maybe that is exactly what they need to wake up. The Yotes should feel as if they had things stolen from them by SDSU at the conference tourney. They should really show a spark against them to right a wrong. I am not sure whether they have that burning desire to prove a point to SDSU. We will soon find out.

I think we still won against the Bizon, right. Relax people. Maybe I am an optimist but we will still be in the dance at the end. We will be fine.
