There are probably not many players in Women's Basketball that have more intelligence or feel for the game than Seekamp. I am guessing 2 factors likely played into her not getting selected. First of all the Summit League is just not looked up very highly on a national level and the level of competition probably hurt her eventhough I don't think it should have because regardless of who the Coyotes played, she played well. I think even bigger than that would have to be her overall athleticism. For elite talent in the country she is not real athletic. She makes up for it but I believe that is probably a big factor.

Hopefully Nicole will get a good free agent tryout with a WNBA team!! On a selfish note, I agree with this, but, playing in Australia again would give her family and close friends the opportunity to enjoy her play like we have here for the last 4 years. Her Mom has only had the chance to see less than 10% of her games in person. Also remember this, Becky Hammon was not drafted by the WNBA, but she turned out okay!!!

Hopefully she will catch on somewhere and be the first to play in a WNBA game from SD. I was a little surprised after seeing Banham and the FGCU girl get picked in the top 15.

Great news! No doubt she will shine in the European league, and get another shot at a WNBA spot. Congrats!

Too funny not to post. I clicked on the link from Jeremy's twitter account about Seekamp's first pro game, and here is what Google Translate had to say:
Faworytkami match were playing in their own hall, bronze medalist of the Polish championship last season. The first minutes of the match seemed to confirm this, because after the first action Gorzów losing the Ślęza 0: 5. Dariusz Maciejewski's team quickly recovered, however, and the losses came to lead. AZS, led by Nicole Seekamp were doing very well in attack and raised the oceans new players every now and then into the trash housewives.

good article! Looks like Nicole will play for her hometown pro team next season instead of Poland. Should be nice to see friends and family again. I'm guessing that the Euro leagues maybe pay more and provide better access to the WNBA? No idea. Here's a funny quote at the end of the article: I'm not sure it ever gets to -40 in Vermillion, unless you add wind chill. Despite the reputation, Yankton and Vermillion are actually the least-cold part of the state. Solidly in Zone 5 for landscape plants. That's not the funny part, though. -40 F is the only temperature that is actually the same in Celsius. -40 F = -40 C Nerdy, I know...

The Opals is Australia's Women's national team. The one that plays in the olympics. That would be something! I'm pretty sure Australia's women's teams have won medals in the past.
