Thanks Yotes! That video is amazing. Kid has great body control and cleared that bar with 5-6 inches to spare. If he is clearing 18 in high school he could be scary good once Coach Miles is done with him. Would be awesome to add a NCAA men's national pole vault champion to go with our women's title from a few years ago.

Great job Emily (back in Feb)...definitely "rare air" territory, ...don't let the lack of competition slow you down.Looking forward to cheering on Chris too, heck of a vaulter. It's a different view looking up and seeing only blue sky and the tops or light poles in the background...ha.

The Coyotes finished 2nd in the Summit Track Meet for both Men and Women. With NDSU having the lock down on the titles the 2nd place finishes are the ceiling for the program. Good showing for the Coyotes and congratulations to NDSU for winning again. The overall athletic program is unreal up in Fargo.

Good showing for the Coyotes and congratulations to NDSU for winning again. The overall athletic program is unreal up in Fargo. NDSU is very strong in Track and Field and Football obviously, but overall USD is going to win the all sports Summit League award on the Women's side this year with NDSU coming in third. I believe all of both your and NDSU's women's sports are in the Summit League. And USD is only slightly behind second place NDSU in the Commissioner Cup for combined men and women's all sports points. In my opinion, the South Dakota Schools do a better job in supporting the broad range of athletics than does NDSU. There isn't as much difference between USD and NDSU achievements overall as most people think. And I think they put over 50% more into athletics in terms of dollars than your do .

I just want to congratulate the men and women on this year's Coyote track and field team (knowing that the season isn't over yet). This sport is covered pretty lightly by the media but I follow team and individual accomplishments closely.
As you state, NDSU is obviously very strong in this sport and I suppose their roster is larger than ours. I think with some more depth in certain events we could challenge. That would be the case for SDSU, too. Perhaps with new facilities the Coyotes can accomplish that in the future.
Regardless, congratulations Coyote tracksters and thank you for your dedication!

The Bison dominate in the throws and the decathlon/heptathlon.
On the men's throws, the Bison picked up 117 of 156 possible points, compared to 25 for USD & 9 for SDSU. The 3 Dakotas picked up 151 of 156 possible points The Bison also picked up 33 of 39 possible points in the decathlon, compared to 2 for USD and 0 for SDSU.
On the women's throws the Bison picked up 105 of 156 possible points, compared 41 for USD and 10 for SDSU. The 3 Dakotas picked up all available 156 points. The Bison also picked up 32 of 39 possible points the the heptathlon, compared to 0 for USD and SDSU.
I attended the conference meet on Saturday. The new facilities are fantastic.
