The women have wasted no time in securing the regular season title tonight, up 23-5 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Unlike last year the women locked up the regular season title with zero drama whatsoever tonight in a comfortable win over IPFW. Back to back regular season titles and the 1 seed in Sioux Falls locked up.

More good news - IUPUI beat SDSU just now and so we will be avoiding IUPUI in the second round.

Congrats to the Lady Yotes for winning the conference title outright tonight! Finish the job at IUPUI and let's take care of business in the SLT!

Great night for the Coyotes as the men and women both win and the Lady Jacks lose to give the Coyotes the sole conference title and an avoidance of IUPUI in the second round. The game in Indianapolis is a little bit less important other than how the Coyotes look to a committee member for either getting into a tourney or for seeding in a tourney.

As things have become become more clear, here is what our outlook is at the Summit League tournament:
First round (Saturday 3/5 12PM) vs. either NDSU or IPFW (they play each other on Saturday for the 8 seed) Second round (Monday 3/7 12PM) vs. winner of Oral Roberts and Western Illinois Championship (Tuesday 3/8 1PM) vs. winner of bottom side of bracket (probably IUPUI or SDSU)
NDSU and Oral Roberts gave us fits in the early part of our conference season, but we bounced back and crushed both of them once this team came together. I really like our odds of going to the title game. Really if we continue our level of play there is no question that this team goes dancing.

Congrats on the regular season championship AGAIN! Looks like SDSU will have the tougher road to the title game in Sioux Falls, as it should be with USD being the #1 seed. SDSU lost to IUPUI on purpose so they wouldn't have to beat the Jags 3 times in season

IUPUI seems to have State's number the last several years. Could be an interesting matchup in the tourney provided both teams take care of business round 1.

I guess this means USD needs to throw the game so we have a shot against the Jags in the title game............

Looking at the standings couldn't it still be possible that Denver is the 8th seed. If they lose to Omaha and IPFW wins I think the Mastodons may have the tie breaker based on the win against ORU. I could be wrong though.

I'll say what no one else is saying (but you are thinking it) The IUPUI game becomes important for seeding - need to get a 12 seed to avoid the true road game in first round. RPI isn't great, and it turned out that SDSU wasn't much help as they are more hype/expectation than actually good. (Their top 5 RPI wins are #20, 106, 109, 131, 133, although FWIW they lost to some good teams) Yotes have wins over #64, 64, 86, 107, 109, but the win streak needs to be in place to get up to a 12 seed, IMO. Also need to play well in SLT, when hopefully some committee members are actually watching to help with the 'eye test'.
