Yori was making nearly $750,000 a year. I would imagine that Amy will make $300k to $400k minimum easily and possibly $500k. I don't think she makes what Yori made until she proves she can win on that level. I have heard a number greater than this. I expected $500K, and still do, but I have heard more.

They just did a piece on KELO at 10:00 and interviewed Stewart and Duffy. There definitely appears to be no hard feelings but actually just the opposite. Both were upbeat in their interviews and both were wishing Amy well. They are taking it with class and good for them. Duffy is excited for next year, the new arena and what has been building at USD.

I think Amy's already convinced them she can win at the Big 10 level,or she wouldn't have got the job.But I see what your saying. She's got a bunch of injured players, not her own recruits ,some of them might be a little "soft",depending on who you believe with all the controversial mud slinging that went on ,compare that to the players she had at USD,all hard workers who would do anything to please their coach.Amy's inherited a mess and i think it will be a different type of challenge for her than what she had here at USD.I think (just my opinion) she should get 500k+ just for straightening out their mess for them. They never did come out with a definitive answer to what was going on there,so for all we know, there might still be problems there, who knows.I digress, sorry. Any program in the nation would love having Sheppard,Romeo too ,but when the going gets tough ,the tough get going....outta town that is.... (sorry, couldn't resist)(joke)...... ,I know she probably(Romeo) was leaving and would have left anyway even if none of this happened, because she's homesick or some other valid reason. I don't know enough about about the rest of the players returning next year to comment, other than to say I hope they all hit it off with their new coach. This might take a little bonding, getting to know the new players strengths, weaknesses, etc and certainly could take a little while to get everyone singing in harmony so to speak, but if anyone can handle it,I know Amy can. It will be interesting to see how everything develops at UNL and wishing all this turmoil they've all experienced will soon become just a distant memory, and the program can carry on with experiencing a culture of success they've become accustomed to.Good luck Amy.

She could win at the Big 10 level with a Summit Team. Imagine what she could do with the advantages of actually being a big 10 team.

Yes, she coached this team to victories over Illinois, Minnesota and to the WNIT Championship that included Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern, Rutgers (did I leave anyone out?).....I think she'll be alright in the B1G. I too am very happy for Coach Williams. She's a winner, and the Yotes WBB program is better for it, what else can you ask for? I have confidence in Herbster and the admin. to find another talent to lead the program forward.

This was a great move for coach Williams. Coach Williams will probably triple her salary, she gets to move to a P5 conference and she gets to go back to where she played basketball. This is a really great opportunity for her. I'm sure that USD will get another good coach and they will stay at the top of the Summit League.
Now we get to wait and see who SDSU hires for a MBB coach and who USD hires for a WBB coach. Both teams must be doing something right to have their coaches get their salaries doubled and tripled.

Amy just had her press conference in Lincoln. Gave a lot of love to the USD community and her former players and administrators.
It was announced that she signed a five-year contract at Nebraska that will pay her $575,000 per year. Schools like Nebraska also generally have other incentives, like country club memberships, a car or two to use, etc.

Good for Amy. Incredible opportunity for someone who truly deserves it.

I was surprised even with the apparent dumpster fire she took over that she wasn't able to produce something a little bit better than she did. Nebraska was downright terrible this year. Maybe the grass isn't always greener. Obviously she deserves a little bit more time to fully implement her recruiting and coaching but not the start I expected for sure.
