As a direct dig at NDSU football, I'm going to start the rumor that Iowa State is coming to town because the Big 12 wants to take close look about sending an invite to USD to join, you know, because they want to improve the conference for VB. #YotesToBig12

If they win tonight, and that is a fairly big if, then they would probably receive votes for rankings, but it won't be enough to get them ranked. There are a lot of very good volleyball teams, including USD. Just keep winning.

I believe the Big 12 interest in USD is contingent upon Nebraska leaving the Big 10 and going back to the Big 12. Perhaps CE can provide some inside info.

ISU will take our spot in the Summit/MVFC. Cyclone basketball should be okay but the football team would still struggle to compete in the Valley. I don't think they've beaten a MVFC team in a few seasons.

The Cyclones easily handled the Coyotes tonight 25-11, 25-12, 25-21. Better luck next time. I believe this is the first loss at home.

Well I got to go to a couple of games over Dakota Day weekend. I have never been to a volleyball match before. Went on Friday night for the first set. I was mainly interested in seeing the new Arena hosting an event. I must admit I was quite enamored with the excitement and play of the Coyote team. I could have easily stayed for the whole match but my HS/College friend that I was with and I had tickets to Keith Urban at the Tyson in Sioux City. That was a great concert but I don't think I will ever regain all of my hearing. I sure hope The Denny in Sioux Falls is a whole lot better venue. Went to the Fort Wayne match after the wonderful win over UNI. Unfortunately we left after the second set. Things did not look good and we were dead tired and still needed to get something to eat before we left town. We really like Cafe Brule and hopefully will make it our 'go to' spot for many DDays to come.
Anyway I was glad to hear that the Yotes came back and pulled the Fort Wayne match out of the fire. So now I know that SD Coyote vb is very competitive and highly entertaining and I am in to it. If I lived anywhere close I would be excited to take in as many matches as possible. So Congratulations ladies! Keep up the good work and best of luck in the remainder of the season. I hope I can see some action on CoyoteVision.
Is there men's college vb?
Go South Dakota!! Forever of course.

There is no comparison between the Denny and Tyson Events Center, none. They did not build the Tyson very practical at all. It seems like half the seats in that building are off to one end of the playing surface. I don't understand why they would build a facility with so many undesirable seats for sporting events. They also built the thing way too tall. There is so much empty and wasted space between where the seating area ends and the roof. Don't quite understand the architectural sense in that either. That facility and the SCSC are so completely different. I can't imagine the max seating is all that much more at Tyson but the wasted area is next to none at the SCSC where at the Tyson it's like they built the entire structure twice as big as it needed to be. I would rather watch a game at the old Sioux City Auditorium over the new Tyson Center. I thought the atmosphere was better. The Denny was built very nice and not on the cheap like I feel the Tyson Center was. In the Denny to me what makes that a great facility is how nice the upper deck seats are. Even though up aways it feels like you are right on top of the playing surface. The Summit Tourney is lucky to have that facility. I haven't heard many people that don't like the place. As a fan of various sports teams I feel lucky to have those teams play at SCSC, the Premier Center, Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium. All first class facilities. Sorry to hijack the thread for a bit.

A final men's tournament game with SDSC would do fine. Especially with the Coyotes winning. Any real great concert would be good too. Would love to have seen Paul McCartney but Phil Collins would do. Go Yotes!

Forever of course. There is men's college volleyball but not really around here. The Summit League doesn't sponsor it but there are a few SL teams like IPFW that has a men's team.

Sorry to hijack the thread for a bit. First, you cannot compare the two as the Tyson was built over a decade ago and there have been many changes to arena "wants & needs" in that time that is making many arenas obsolete very quickly. Secondly, the architecture and design of the place was affected by having to incorporate the Auditorium which is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. Whenever you have a building like that, with special tax financing and the like involved in the project things are going to get wonky. The bottom line is that the building in Sioux Falls should not be compared to the Tyson because they are not in the same class. I've been in Scheels Arena in Fargo and Ralston Arena in Omaha, those buildings are in the same class as the Tyson and it compares quite favorably to them.

Nice articles! I also saw a nice spot on KELO a couple days ago. I get why the Jacks get more press here in SF. Their fans are a lot more engaged.
Winning is winning, though. The media can't ignore winning. Hopefully it will help build the base as well.
