Has anyone seen an actual crowd shot of the game? There couldn't have been 2000 sold tickets when I took the screenshot above (about 2 hours before kickoff). Pretty sure you can't put 2500 people in the suites...

Gonna be a slow week with no games to discuss until the Women's game Saturday... Question: Anyone else, besides me, could never find themselves cheering for the bunnies to win (ie... last Saturday's game vs NH and now vs JMU this coming Saturday)? I don't buy into the whole argument that it's good for the MVFC to have two teams in the finals. Or it's a SD team so we have to root for them to win to make SD look good... That is all BS to me and I could never, ever see myself saying that, "gee I hope the bunnies win for this reason or for that reason." I tell my bunny co-workers this and they are dismayed that I can't support them. I hear, "we cheered for USD when you were in the WNIT. Why can't you support us" I say, "great, but I never asked you to." I am thinking in my head, but rarely say it out loud, "I can't support you because I have grown up having intense, deep-seated hatred for the agricultural college." I can't even use their own proper names to reference them on this board because I have that much disdain for them. I always refer to them as the bunnies. Heck, even my sister is a bunny and probably received a somewhat okay education up there -- she is a nurse at the Avera Heart Hospital by the way. When my nieces wear their bunny blue and yellow garbage to family functions, which they ALWAYS do (do they give that crap away because you see it everywhere?), I find myself struggling to even talk to them without gagging - I have to look away... My four year old has a bad habit of walking up to people in bunny attire and telling them, "rabbits suck!" No idea where he learned such language...

I will never understand those that cheer for SDSU either. The better they do the worse it is for USD IMO. If for nothing else their success will hurt our recruiting. Their success draws attention away from us and to them. Their success and #1 athletic institution in the state allows them to get the better beat writer. USD needs to do something to distance themselves from the Jacks in a good way. They do everything we do but they dominate the baseball and wrestling sports in the state without even having a counter from the Coyotes. That is why I think the Coyotes should start hockey. It would be the best way to seperate ourselves from them and have a way to sponsor something that matters that we could have all to ourselves in the state. Sioux Falls is a starving hockey market and I think the premier center could support the Stampede and the Coyotes.

With student enrollment at 61% female and 39% male at USD, we won't see any new male sports in Vermillion for the foreseeable future.

That's why I made the comment previously on this board that USD, as an institution, is setting themselves up for a Title 9 suit in the opposite direction with such a low male enrollment figure. What are the reasons for such a disparity? It does not reflect the general population numbers. What active measures are the University taking to increase the male student population?
It's not good enough, or acceptable, to just say "that's the way it is." The lack of males getting college degrees is going to be a problem in the future for this country, if you believe an educated workforce is a good thing.

When my nieces wear their bunny blue and yellow garbage to family functions, which they ALWAYS do (do they give that crap away because you see it everywhere?), One of my big pet peeves is the rabbit gear. They wear it to church. CHURCH. Have never seen another team/school ever worn there, but see at least one rabbit shirt each weekend. I guess it shows how they view reverence and respect.

Nebraska fans wear their gear to church, weddings, funeral, everywhere.

I'll pull for other conference teams, but not for SDSU. Never. Their school is a joke and I've had way too many experiences with their horrible fans.

I could never and won't ever cheer for the Bunnies as I have seen way to many blue clad fans sit at the Summit Tourney and openly cheer against USD when their team wasn't playing. Something about their fan base just rubs me the wrong way. Granted, some of it has to do with the success they have had since moving to D1 and it is something that USD is hoping to attain. Sounds like your kid and my kids could be buddies. My kids always tell people the Jacks are disgusting. A 2 years ago my daughter, who is now in kindergarten, made me a noodle necklace at preschool and refused to put any yellow noodles on it. I asked her why and she said, "Mom, you never put blue and yellow together. Those are Jacks colors and that is gross!"

5,583.......I guess football wasn't meant to be played outdoors in South Dakota late in the season. They try to make fun of the Fargodome, Unidome, and the Aelerus Center but there is a reason SD waited for so long to get HS football playoffs until the Dakotadome was built.
Jacks fans pride themselves on this false narrative that they love and thrive in the cold yet all these games keep coming up with 5k fans.

You aren't impressed with this sort of turnout for the biggest home game in program history? (click to enlarge the emptiness)
