Another couple of recent twitter follows for HS juniors (Class of 2018) Ellie Spelhaug - PF/SG - 5'-10" Pleasant Valley HS, Bettendorf, IA (Quad Cities area) Also plays for Minnesota Fury (Iowa team) looks like she is a three-sport standout with softball and volleyball. Might explain why she's not involved in an AAU team like most of the prospects we are seeing.Edit: I guess I was wrong about her not playing for an AAU team...

Maybe we are the 2nd "USD" to show interest... Looks like she has also gotten some twitter followers from Oklahoma State, Wyoming, Denver, Montana State, NDSU, etc. decent list

Abby's recruitment might be heating up. I have no idea about offers, but judging by who she is following on twitter, all 7 of her most recent follows are D-1 WBB coaches or team sites. 4 for USD, 2 for Wyoming, 1 for NDSU. Would be great to beat the Cowgirls for a recruit!

Looking like Jensen will be transferring to SDSU. Nothing official yet but her twitter bio seems to point that way. Rylie Cascio Jensen @smiley_Ryliej2 South Dakota State WBB Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Good luck to her. She was a walk-on at Nebraska and didn't get the scholarship after her freshman year.

Hard to read in to the Nebraska stint - they were awful and dealing with a ton of culture issues. Just fielding a team was a challenge.
Of interest, however, is that the rabbits have now picked up 2 players that were going to come play for Williams. I would think there may not have been a scholarship available next year at USD? Especially if they are still looking for a post transfer?

Not sure if there wasn't interest by us or by her. She was considering UNO as well. She is obviously a good player, so it sucks to lose her to State. Might be that Coach P just likes the guards we have? We will be pretty loaded there. We will probably never know the reason.

My point wasn't that she isn't or won't be good, but that I believe she can play right away. Timing didn't work out and if she didn't want to be here more power to her. I have no idea if Dawn was even recruiting her.

It's going to be tough for any guard to roll in and find PT with Arens, Bradley, young Duffy and McKeever all there. Especially after you've decided against playing for that staff once already. She probably saw the writing on that wall.

Just because she was in the Big 10 doesn't mean much to me. If she averaged just into double digit minutes at Nebraska and USD's program is better then Nebraska's right now then she probably wouldn't even average double digit minutes for USD. Nebraska would have finished no higher than 5th in the Summit this year.

Don't know if there was ever a verbal but there was a STRONG indication that she would be a Yote if Amy stuck around

No need to play this season again as the Rabbits are predicting another undefeated season, regular season and conference tourney champs just like last year...oh wait.
Sorry for the thread drift.
