Really isn’t a bad seat though.

The premier center is a very nice arena but even in the best arenas the seats are naturally far from created equal. I believe to have a good seat you need to be somewhere in the middle of between the backboards. As you start getting further behind the basket and further away from the action it makes a big difference in your enjoyment of the game. I was sitting in kind of a corner seat last year and always felts like I had the backboard in the way. It really effects the your viewing ability when the ball is shot at the closer basket. It is hard to see the ball actually go in the hoop because of the obstruction that the backboard causes. This will be my first year where I won't even attempt to buy directly from ticket master. If I don't end up finding a decent all session pass on the secondary market I might actually just watch on TV. I hope it doesn't come to that but watching from a bad seat is not fun IMO. It is hard to get into a game because the further away you are the more likely the fans won't be quite as much into it making it hard for you yourself to get into it.
The Jacks have a huge advantage with most of their fans getting the better seats. People cheer more when they are closer to the action. It's just a reality.
Between the 4 major sports I would have to say that basketball is the most important one of them all to have a good seat with hockey a close second. Football is probably the least important followed closely by baseball due to the large fields. A high up 20 yard line seat in a well designed stadium is a nice seat in football. In basketball not so much when you are off the court.

Does anyone know what section available would be near a good showing of USD fans? I might as well get what I can now and hope that I can still get better ones if they open up.

Section 106 was the section that the athletic department purchased the past two years. I don't know if they are doing that again.

One strategy that I didn't know about was that if you call the SF Sports Authority, you can get on a waiting list for better seats (you have to buy an all-session pass first, and they are non-refundable).
My boss did that last Spring. He bought upper-tier one-year all-session passes right on the railing at mid-court. Not bad for upper-tier. He requested to be put on a waiting list for lower tier seats and got a call this Summer. His new seats are awesome, but he didn't get a refund on the upper tier seats.
The point is that there are ways of getting into the good seats. You just have to be willing to spend some money, and be patient.

Personally, I'd rather watch on TV than pay those prices for crap seats on the ends or in the corners. I have all-session in the first row of the upper deck at about midcourt and they really provide a good view. I don't see the love for the lower bowl and there's always be the possibility of being stuck by the typical loudmouth bunny people that could really make the whole thing a miserable experience. I'm satisfied where I'm at and really have no plans on changing. I'd recommend the upper to anyone.

I'm glad to see there is an allotment system, but cramming them in the corners is a slap in the face. The conference should go by order of finish, and award first crack at the half-court lower bowl to the best teams from last year. I don't care if they go by regular season or tournament performance. That's one way to energize fan bases like Western Illinois and Omaha, and get more of them to the SLT.

Don't let the ORU numbers fool you, they have gone as far as to put white t-shirts on seats to make the Mabee Center look like their are bodies in the seats. When ORU, WIU and IPFW were in the championship, the seats were mostly blue SDSU fans in attendance. Their are open seats in the lower bowl, USD fans have been complaining about no lower bowl seating. Now those lower bowl seats need to be mid-court? Shall the Summit League just provide court side seats for all USD fans? Go out and buy the tickets and stop complaining.

FWIW I've sat lower bowl corners and they are not bad seats, I've also been upper bowl mid court prefer the lower corner. The worst place to sit IMHO is lower bowl behind the basket. Buy lower bowl tickets and often times sections will open up as fans from teams who aren't playing in that game won't be there, it's pretty easy to "improve" your seats, just be respectful. I'm curious it's been 24hrs since seats have opened up how many have bought tickets.

That's one way to energize fan bases like Western Illinois and Omaha, and get more of them to the SLT. No one from WIU, Omaha, ORU, IPFW show up for their home games. I think this is an over-generalization. Could their attendance as a group be better? Absolutely. Have they had decent attendance in the past during winning seasons? Yes. Omaha has tripled their men's team attendance since opening Baxter Arena. Even this year, when they aren't having a winning season.
Do you think that ridiculing the lower-performing schools makes this conference better? Maybe a ticketing strategy that attempts to improve attendance from the other schools could be a positive thing. But that wouldn't fit your arrogant world view.Their are open seats in the lower bowl, USD fans have been complaining about no lower bowl seating. Now those lower bowl seats need to be mid-court? Shall the Summit League just provide court side seats for all USD fans? Go out and buy the tickets and stop complaining. I think you meant to type "there are". There is an excellent English Department in Vermilion, if you are interested in some classes.
If you are addressing the USD fans that complain about no seating for Yotes fans, you are barking up the wrong tree with me. I personally think there are plenty of opportunities for there to be lots of red in the arena. We just need to do it.
It's the ticketing strategies of selling 2-year passes and offering first-renewal to pass-holders that I have a problem with. It's exclusionary to fans living a distance from Sioux Falls. This isn't the same scenario as selling season tickets in a campus stadium. It's a conference tournament, not an exclusive country club.
I'm glad that there is an allotment to schools, as there should be. But there is no reason to cram those sections into the corners, in my opinion.

i have to agree with jackfan29. The only ones who are there to support their team are parents and friends. UNO had a good student section last year but didnt see many adults. If the tourney was in Omaha, there would still be more red and blue than maverick fans. It could be in Chicago and there would be more red and blue than Western and Ft Wayne fans. They dont support their teams and there is nothing that you could do to change it. My wife and i spend the 4 days in SF, get a mitel room and make it a vacation. We live an hour away. We have been going since the beginning. So i love the 2 year passes.
