The committee can do whatever they want, but if I was a UND fan I would be pissed if I didn't have the same chance at seats. If SDSU left for another conference and they were in the situation UND will be in there would be hell to pay. The world only revolves around them in their eyes and when something goes bad, just sweep it under the rug. If the SL wants to maximize attendance I don't see why they wouldn't open it up. When did the 2 year rule go into existence? I am thinking that I have paid for 2 years of tickets twice....maybe 3 times. I am not sure. I know that almost every year that the tickets have gone on sale 1 year in advance of the tournament. Even the early years, the tickets were purchased much in advance of the tournament. It is not a good idea to wait until basketball season to think about buying these tickets. It is definitely not a ticket for someone who does not want to prepay in advance. It helps if you buy ahead since there is an email that helps remind when the tickets are on sale in addition to the information that is available from The Summit League and SDSU. We just saw the 2 closest teams to Sioux Falls as the ! and 2 seeds for both women and men. How much more would the attendance been enhanced barring a little snow? The next thing you may be concerned about is the cost of all session tickets. If there is the demand coming with the reseating option, what would the public be willing to pay?

SLT tourney has been in SF for 10 years, USD has been in the SL for 7. Did the seats reopen in 2011 or were ticket holders allowed to renew going back to the beginning of the tourney being in SF?

The year before the yotes were playing in the SLT, I was standing in line to buy next year's tickets and the Hegge girl was in line with a teammate getting tickets for that session. You will have to figure out the years for me. The tickets were on sale during the game for the next year. The SLT people figured out a way to sell more tickets AND have the money in advance. I feel like the sucker born every minute!

UND can have IUPUI’s allocation of tickets. I’m guessing those haven’t been given away for next year. I think UND will have plenty of tickets for the 2019 tournament. I hope I am wrong. I would like to see more folks from Omaha make the drive up too, but they did not have a good showing at this year’s tournament.

My question is has a person had the right to keep seats from the beginning of the SLT in SF or has it ever reset?

Does anyone truly believe SLT wouldn't be better/stronger if there were more green in the building? We have this discussion each year - someone says grandfathering tickets to keep seats is ridiculous and rabbit fans rush in to say it is great as-is. But when asked this ^^ question, the answer is 'they won't come anyway'. Which is, of course, bogus and inconsistent. I have great tickets, and would personally be worse with a lottery system, but it is so obviously the right thing to do.
oldhare is right - you have to be on the ball for these types of things and get them a year in advance, but that has nothing to do with keeping your same seats or 2-years-at-a-time. I think I posted it last year too, but below is the Final Four process for Minneapolis next year. Note you have to pay a year in advance. Also note it is a lottery, and the lottery doesn't care if you bought tickets 20 years in a row.
Complete your ticket application today in order to be entered into the selection process to determine which applicants will receive 2019 NCAA Final Four tickets. Applications will be accepted from March 5 through May 31, 2018.
YOU ARE PURCHASING AN APPLICATION. YOUR CARD WILL BE CHARGED IN FULL, TODAY. IF NOT SELECTED FOR TICKETS YOU WILL BE REFUNDED THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR TRANSACTION, LESS THE $25 APPLICATION FEE, PROMPTLY FOLLOWING THE SELECTION RESULTS, NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 2018.
Each applicant may request up to four (4) tickets and must apply in his/her own name using his/her home street address. Duplicate orders will be cancelled without notification at the conclusion of the application period.

I remember when they put SLT tickets on sale for the first time at the Denny. First there was a presale in late September early October for anyone who previously bought tickets. Then there was a presale for anyone who bought tickyto the SL baseball tournament that had been in SF the previous Spring. Then they went on general sale the Saturday morning of Dakota Day at 10. I remember thinking I wasn’t sure if it was necessary to buy an all session pass, I didn’t have the $ to pay $500 for 2 years worth of seats that far in advance, and certainly not on Dakota Day morning. So I chanced it. The first couple years it was ok when the men weren’t great, but this year I bought all session passes. All I know is if they do reshuffle the deck, anyone bitchin better get in line...and hope they don’t go on sale during football season on a Saturday morning.

I'll try typing it slower for you. The question you ask is devoid of logic. Whether you think anyone from UND wants to come or not doesn't mean you preemptively restrict access. Think of it this way - if no one from UND buys ticket in a lottery system, then no harm, no foul, and there will still be just as many people in blue in the lower level, (albeit shuffled a bit). But you don't really believe that - you are really just concerned that people wearing red will want a shot a lower level tickets and that will have an adverse affect on the people in blue, so you are willing to say 'screw you' to the people wearing green.

Your points are valid Yotes, but don't you think the new construction on the west side of the dome will take care of many or all of your concerns? Some people might relocate across the way to the west, opening seats on the east and then there's also the doubling of the good seats because of that construction. That really should make a huge difference. Correct, we are heading towards a re-seat with the added capacity. My opinion is that the athletic department should consider re-seating again periodically once that is done. Say in 2025, 2030, 2035, etc.
