Should make for some interesting voting and discussion.

There is no trading in sports so it is a meaningless question IMHO so no vote for me. All sports results are what they are.
As my mother used to say "If its and buts were candy and nuts oh what a Merry Christmas we'd have!!"

As my mother used to say "If its and buts were candy and nuts oh what a Merry Christmas we'd have!!" Eh, that's a cop-out. Everything we discuss on this message board is hypothetical and meaningless, at the end of the day. We aren't the ones out there competing, so what's the harm in discussing a scenario that will never happen? He could have rephrased it: "Which accomplishment would excite you the most?" Would basically mean the same thing. I picked the last option. A football win against State, a MBB win in the tourney, and a WBB title would all be hugely satisfying. Winning the Showdown series is good, but far less meaningful IMHO.

My gripe with the 'showdown series' is the forced, corporate nature of it, not the underlying idea. (No offense SD Corn, but you sponsorship annoys me) Winning this series shows a trend, but winning a specific game just shows a single data point. At this stage (post-transition), I'm looking for trendlines, not data dots.

I would trade this trophy for anything meaningful. The showdown just doesn't do anything to excite me. Would give the corn cup away to turn any conference loss in FB or BB into a win.
