I will post the full results later but Zimmer is picking the Jacks men to win the conference this year. Hopefully that will bring about some discussion.

He is likely to also pick the Jacks to go to the Sweet 16 too. (I agree that post wasn't necessary, but felt oddly refreshing to type.)

The Summit is going to be a battle. I really feel good about our squad. We have virtually everybody coming back; the exceptions being Dickerson and Flack. Honestly, I loved TD's speed, athleticism and charisma, but I think he was also a liability. His departure doesn't concern me and I feel good with Simpson being backed up by Josh Williams and obvious support with the ball from Mooney, Peterson and the two walk-on RS Freshman.
We will miss Flack on the defensive end, no doubt. My hope is that Fuller steps in as a more complete offensive threat, somebody with more of a traditional post game and the physicality on defense necessary to make up for the lack of athleticism and explosiveness we had in Flack. Also, we have another year of experience for Hagedorn and Jech. If last season wasn't a wake-up call for Jech, then I think he will need to consider whether D-1 is the right level for himself. It wouldn't surprise me if Prevost is too raw and is asked to redshirt. If depth allows for it, that would be a great problem to have.
Outside of PG and our bigs, the 2-3 (3 1/2) positions will be DEEP. Just go down the line - MOONEY, Hurst, Peterson, Armstrong (anybody seen a picture of this guy now? he has filled out well), Power, and even Doss (glue guy). I think people will be shocked when they see Umude. I believe this guy may end up being a star. Tall, long, athletic and skilled.
Can't forget TBM and Mr. Reliable, Sparky.
As for ESPN's golden boy, at least we have bodies to run through and bang with him for an entire game now (Fuller, TBM, Sparks, Jech, Hagedorn and, if necessary, Prevost)

I have little doubt that we repeat. We are absolutely loaded at guard and I am very optimistic about filling the gap left by Flack. Gut feeling that Smith brings out the best in Fuller, Hagedoorn showed flashes last year, Sparks always plays mistake-free basketball when he is needed. Don't know what we've got in the freshmen. I really hope Jech can figure things out this year. Seemed like a bright spot his freshman year, but was MIA his sophomore year.

Damn I lost a message that I was working on for over 30 minutes. I think Zimmer really blew it on the all conference teams. Why is Mick not doing this, isn't he the senior MVFC/Summit guy on staff. He should have at least as much knowledge as Zimmer. He had Tellinghuisen and Howell on the team with Daum. The Coyotes had the far better team all around so for him including those other 2 Jacks on the team is ridiculous. Neither of them deserve it. He sure had no trouble choosing zero Coyotes for his all conference football team. He also had Burch Manning but should have had Hurst instead.
1. South Dakota State (T1) - Coach Otz did an awesome job for this team, if they develop around Daum they will be very dangerous
2. South Dakota (T1) - Coyotes are more well rounded then the Jacks but Daum is always a difference maker
3. Denver (5) I am not buying stock in them at all, but no one else seems to be better
4. Fort Wayne (3) - Fort Wayne is Fort Wayne and they always seem to be a factor
5. North Dakota State (4) a good defensive team is a good team
6. Oral Roberts (8) With a new coach and new recruiting policies this program is going downhill and maybe fast
7. Omaha (6) We will really see how good their coach is now
8. Western Illinois (7) Their stud is gone so we will see how they fill in without him
The Coyotes are going to be in "unfinished business" mode this year. I don't see motivation as a problem and Smith can continue to get his guys in place.
The roster
These players will be part of the oft played rotation
Hurst Simpson Burch-Manning Mooney Armstrong - not sure if he should be on this list or not Peterson Hagedorn Fuller
That is actually more guys then I thought would make this list
Here are the rest
Umude - someone mentioned that he could be pretty good (I believe Cousin Eddie) so hopefully that comes true Stensgard - not sure what to expect from him Doss - ditto Stensgard J Williams - kind of the forgotten about freshman Delimont - ditto Stensgard Jech - losing patience, He either comes out of the block quickly or his meaningful career at USD may be over Power - mediocre and we could use a big improvement here Sparks - His size is important so hope he is able to play good minutes Provost - He is going to have to be dealt with but who knows if that will start this year.
The two guys that intrique me are Hagedorn and Fuller. If both are good this year the Coyotes should be really good. Hagedorn is the guy last year that I just saw potential over flowing. He is so smooth and he can get off that three almost when he wants. If he squares it up he can really nail that shot. If he beefs up by 10 pounds and improves his interior play he will be very valuable. Fuller is kind of the guy that I have heard most say he is going to be a good player. Hopefully that comes to fruition and he is really a stud in the Summit League.
Mooney is the guy that get USD fans on their feet. His confidence is there and when he makes those big threes like the daggers he made against the Jacks at the end of the game in Vermillion he just kind of turns around and gives that smug and slightly cocky look that just makes ya want to cheer for him even more. Hurst is the straw that stirs the drink. He is a lock down defender that can be put one on one with the opponents best scorer. Very vital piece to the puzzle.

The toughest thing to replace with Flack will be that interior defense and rim protection. I think if Hagedorn can up his defensive game and not be pushed around in the lane he can be the best Coyote shot blocker and shot alterer. He has great length. The cool thing about this year is that we all know we have a good team. Last year at this time many were hopeful but we really didn't know how it would turn out and even prior to the NDSU game in Fargo we still didn't know for sure.

This could be a wild year - the Yotes will be better at every position than they were last year with more depth and experience on top of the improvements from the off season. (Keep in mind Flack missed a bunch of games and the Yotes still won the conference) The guard play should be somewhere between fun and awesome.

IMO, think everyone should continue to underestimate us... worked well for us last year.

The team should be even better than last year with the more experience on the team and adding Fuller to the roster. talked to a few of the bb managers and they said the team looks more confident and skilled with their additions than past years. Its NCAA or bust

I didn't want to start a new thread. How does Dickerson's dribble/drive slam not make the cut? Also it should have Flacks Dunk Contest 360+ slam.
