You want to talk about stuff that's nuts, check out the final three games of this season.
NDSU @sdsu USD @illinois STATE
USD @uni @ndsu SDSU
ILL. STATE WIU @sdsu NDSU
SDSU NDSU ILL. STATE usd
UNI USD mo. STATE IND. STATE
NDSU: I don't care what the Bison fans say, they aren't going to run the table. The question is 1,2 or 3 losses. I think 1 for sure and maybe 2
USD: We are capable of running the table and if we do, at minimum we get a piece of the championship trophy. We could also drop all 3 games. I'm betting on 2 wins
ISU-r: They are capable of running the table. I'm betting on 1 win though, outside shot at 2
SDSU: Which Jacks gem shows up? They could run the table, or they could lose all 3. I'm betting they win 1 game
UNI: This team has the best shot of running the table. You could build an argument they win out. If so, they finish 6-2 in the league
The schedule makers knew what they were doing putting this one together, or they got darn lucky. For USD to think about hosting, they absolutely need to beat UNI Saturday, and do so in convincing fashion. I'm not sure how many MVFC teams could possibly host, but if UNI wins out, they would have the tie breaker on both us and SDSU.
Here's my dream results:
Nov. 4th: Jacks beat NDSU------Western Illinois beats Illinois State-----Coyotes beat UNI Results: 2 way tie for 1st between NDSU and USD.
Nov. 11th: Jacks and Illinois State bet the $hit out of each other and ISU wins. Jacks now have 3 conference losses. Coyotes make it 2 straight in Fargo. 2 way tie at the top, and we own tie breaker
Nov. 18th: Illinois State beats the Bison and we bet The Jacks. We win title outright,
STANDINGS:
USD 7-1
NDSU 6-2
UNI 6-2
ISU-r 6-2
WIU 5-3 ( if they win out )
SDSU 4-4
YSU 4-4 ( if they won out and probably favored in all three games )
Ok, so now comes the question of how many Valley teams make it? If it's 5, YSU and SDSU are probably left out. If it's 6, does YSU get the nod because of their convincing win against SDSU?
Even if NDSU should happen to win against us, we would then be 6-2 along with UNI and ISU. Who then hosts?
There is a butt load of football to be played yet, and it's a crazy a$$ league, so who knows what's gonna happen. But look at the last three weeks and ply out a scenario you see happening.
