Ames becomes the center of Yotes spots on Friday. Mens XC @ 10:45 Womens XC @ 11:00ish? Swimming Duals @ 11:00 WBB @ 1:00 Good luck everyone! Ames sucked for the Yotes (all notes via goyotes.com): Womens XC: Fifth place is the highest the Coyotes have finished at the regional since the move to NCAA Division I. The Coyotes took seventh in 2014 when alumna Amber Eichkorn became the first USD athlete to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual. No. 20 Iowa State and Oklahoma State earned the region's two automatic qualifying berths to NCAA Championships next week. Iowa State combined for 90 points and Oklahoma State totaled 103 points. No. 13 Minnesota finished in third with 119 points and Missouri took fourth with 215 points. The Coyotes finished with 252 points for fifth. Mens XC: No. 14 Iowa State and No. 19 Oklahoma State also posted the top-two spots on the men's side to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. Iowa State had 69 points to Oklahoma State's 74. South Dakota took 20th overall with 515 points. Junior Eldon Warner continued to lead the Coyote men with a 54th-place finish. Warner clocked 30:15.36. Senior Brice Cowman was right on his heels with a time of 30:17.92. Cowman took 60th place. Swimming: The South Dakota swimming and diving team fell short at the Iowa State Tri-Duals Friday in Ames, Iowa, at Beyer Pool. The Coyote women lost to both Iowa State (227-71) and Texas Christian (218-81) while the men fell to Texas Christian (235-75). WBB: L (thread elsewhere)
