Nice, so he’s banned for that but you call a group of college students cheaters... nice... Good bye. Zero tolerance from you people tonight. Ban CF before any of those guys

How about this quote from Dallas Goedert “But beating USD is one thing we have to do. It’s a game we have to win for the state.” That is like saying that SDSU is all that is good in the state and without the Jacks winning it would not be good for the state and without it things just wouldn't be right. I think he knows that it is a foregone conclusion that they win because their fan base would not stand for anything less.
That is a quote you will not hear from a USD player. Mick Garry had to make sure he included that quote in his article considering the South Dakota State fan that he is.

Just watched the press conference of Bob Nielson and he was really broken up about how things went. He mentioned other then Streveler that this team "isn't the most talented team". I was kind of surprised to hear that because I don't really see a talent issue with this team as they seem quite a bit more talented than they used to be and at the very least faster than prior teams.
I think it is pretty amazing actually. We have a guy like Glen Caruso that leaves USD and he becomes a great head coach even though he was only the OC here. We have a guy like Joe Glenn with multiple national title that was a success everywhere he has gone but as soon as he comes to USD suddenly he is nothing like the coach he used to be. Now Nielson comes in with multiple national titles and he is kind of struggling lately. Maybe there is a common theme here. Coaches are good before and after they come here but are never as good when they are actually here. Is USD like the Wyoming of FCS. I can't fault the admin this time around. They have done everything they can do to try to put out a winner and technically the team does have a winning record but today it certainly doesn't feel like a winning team.
The program is just hexed regardless of who is in charge. The Yotes out gain UNI and SDSU by about 200 yards a piece and lose both games. Maybe there is nothing that can be done without some kind of spiritual cleansing ritual.

I don’t think USD is Wyoming. That string of great coaches built the program up from an average D2 condition to an FCS contender. I think the foundation for continued success is here. This year the program had to deal with the suspended players. I think their behavior was disruptive and destructive to team cohesiveness, has hurt USD, football and their race. Their lack of respect for decency, the law and honor is appalling. I don’t think USD wants that type of person around. I first put the problem there.
NDSU dealt with it in 2008. Not rape but the Best Buy affair. It cost an entire season to restore the culture and purge the trash. NDSU suspended and expelled without mercy. USD is lucky it only affected a few games.
once the foundation is in place you can build the house. We need a good recruiting year, players need success in their schooling off season and we continue to build. It was fun and exciting. I hope we get a playoff spot.

Holy crap. It’s Nielsen’s second year right? The sky isn’t falling.
I thought that was a very fun and entertaining game for whichever team you cheered for. Tons of huge plays. SDSU’s defense was awful again, but credit to your offense. Streveler is a dude and will be missed. He was in on that TD in my opinion.
I don’t have an opinion on the cramps, yet. I only remember #53 getting them, but I’d have to watch it again.
I was adamant that it wasn’t a targeting call on your LB at first, but after watching it again I do believe it was the right call. It was just another football play and wouldn’t even be thought of as a bad play a few years ago, but times have changed and it’s just how it is now. The bad part is that he’s going to miss part of your playoff game.
Good luck and we’ll maybe see your team in Brookings again in a couple weeks.

Obviously everyone is disappointed with the game yesterday (5 paragraph rants or not). Yes, Streveler was in from the chest up, so unless he was holding the ball with his knees it was a TD. No, that wasn't targeting, even by they silly standards of the rule (Gray immediately looked back because he could tell something wan't right with the guy who essentially headbutted him on a block). Yes, the cramps only took place when there was momentum (strangely never on 3rd and long...). Yes, SDSU fans are well known for being obnoxious win or lose (and many folks, CF included, think the more obnoxious the better the fan). Yes, Streveler was hurt/taped up and had to wear gloves in this game. Even after all of that we out-played them (sans-Goedart, he played well), and fell by 3.
This is a valid top 15 team even after the depletions on the roster. I, for one, am hoping we get a ticket for the playoffs and that includes a re-match in Brookings. And after we win that game, I hope our fans act with class, even if the SDSU fans don't deserve it.

CF isn't getting a ban because he is expressing his thoughts and providing discussion. The two State fans got banned because one was here simply trolling and the other one backing him up. No tolerance after having to deal with the most obnoxious fan base in FCS yesterday. Notice SDSUAlum08 did not get banned because he came in here with legitimate discussion and commentary, not to just flame. So it's not just a ban all SDSU posters thing.

Great post gopheryote! I will have to watch Nielson’s press conference myself to confirm what CF heard Nielson say (our team isn’t the most talented other than Streveler??) I won’t comment on that until I confirm it. Streveler was absolutely in on that touchdown! The barebones fact is this game shows you how significant and important it is to have a solid kicking game. I told my son last year your coaches biggest challenge will be replacing Miles. SDSU’s kicking game was top notch. For an offense to know that you have a lights out kicker with a range and consistent kicking of 45 yards and then some is HUGE!! The mistakes made yesterday aren’t a question of talent....it is more mistakes. Mistakes that were a combination of mental and inexperience. Technically when Nielson’s coaching staff took over the need was was rebuilding... we all know the average time of a rebuild is 3 Years. We are at 2 and have shown significant improvement even with all the roadblocks and distractions this team has had this season. I am usually very optimistic but unfortunately I do not see anyway that USD will be selected today for the playoffs😥 I am holding on to a small hope and hope I am wrong🙏🏽

Everyone just need to remember with CF that 95% of his posts are gibberish and are a waste of time! Don't read them!

Obviously not official but the FCS website is projecting the Coyotes to be selected and travel to Eastern Washington and the winner of that game to visit the bunnies....

Inside sources tell me SDSU showed this in film study this week. It was the technique they would employ when the Yotes had momentum. youtu.be/DeazgPwP3D0 (Start at 2:20)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe first round host sites are up for bids and the bids have already been submitted. Am sure the Yotes put in a very competitive bid and assuming we make the field I think we have a very good chance to host.

In regards to the Gray targeting call, in the slow motion replay there is the collision and he drives up with his helmet into the chin, uppercut style. That is targeting, I’m amazed an official saw it in real time. There were plenty of holds on both teams yesterday that they failed to see.
Cramping issue, I can only remember different 2 guys that cramped up. The fact that Cox was the one that cramped several times is your indicator. Even your former player/color commentator said in a high stakes rival game your juices are flowing. Anyone who’s played or exercised should know once you cramp you’re susceptible to them the rest of the game. 3rd and long Cox generally isn’t in there so that’s why you wouldn’t see it then. There’s a difference beteeen cramping and injury. To suggest a player sits a certain amount of time is asinine.

If a player cannot go a few plays without cramping up then he should be held out of the game. It's a safety issue.
I don't believe any of it though. It was a planned tactic used to slow our tempo offense and throw us off. It was obvious the deceit going on there.

Obviously not official but the FCS website is projecting the Coyotes to be selected and travel to Eastern Washington and the winner of that game to visit the bunnies.... That will be a good game the Yotes can win and get momentum. Im not really a fan of rematches especially in the same month but traveling to brookings would be a delight.
