Only one game tonight in the Summit other than the Coyotes and Blue Jays.
William Woods at Western Illinois - The only question may be, will the Necks get over 100?

Both SDSU and WIU just lost this weekend against teams that were in the top-100 RPI last year. (We also did this vs. Iowa State).
SDSU lost at defensive juggernaut Green Bay 41-55. Western Illinois lost at an offensive-oriented Northern Illinois 94-96.
Right now our home win vs. Creighton stands out as the best non-conference win for the Summit so far. Lots of good opponents on the schedule, still. Especially for the Jacks.

As the Summit tries to build to be a multi-bid league, we need the games against other mid or low majors to regularly go our way. The Jacks have the perception of being the class of the Summit, but have been beaten soundly two years in a row by GB. Another reason to not like them, I guess.

Watched the bunnies play GB and they were handled by GB from start to finish. Haven't heard any bunny fans talking about that! As mentioned our victory over Creighton was a great win. To add more perspective to that, Amy's Nebraska team was 3-0 until they met Creighton yesterday and they lost by 14.

Summit League women went 4-0 on Friday. SDSU beat a top-25 team in NC State, with Selland and Guebert raining 3s.
Good RPI boost. It's still early, but State and WIU and the Yotes are all looking really good.
Last year State was the clear preseason favorite with USD figuring to take a step back. Instead State took a step back, WIU and IUPUI came out of nowhere, and it was a 4-horse race. This year The top three still look good, but it looks like the whole conference is improving. Could this be a 2-bid year? Stay tuned...

The state of Wisconsin continues its domination of the Summit: Western Illinois falls 67-77 to UW-Milwaukee. UW-Mil had an RPI in the 100's last year, but I'm pretty sure they have a history of success. Them and UW-GB would be great Summit League additions for both women's and men's BB IMO.

I agree that they would be good additions but I don't see it happening. This is what I think ends up happening. Fort Wayne leaves after this conference season and UMKC and N Colorado are added at some point. Summit travel partners. UND/NDSU USD/SDSU UNC/Denver Omaha/UMKC W Illinois/Oral Roberts (the misfit travel partners but it is out of necessity) I would be happy with UNC and not so much with UMKC. At least that would get the conference to 10 and would have travel partners that would make sense.

Coach Tetshlag Kelly Stewart Nick Fuller Tre Burnette 6 Freshmen/redshirt freshmen on the Football roster, etc. *edit - forgot to mention super-Libero Anne Rasmussen!

You have obviously resigned yourself to this conclusion based on previous posts railing against UMKC and UNC. I think that outcome would make a lot of sense in terms of stability and maintaining our auto-bid.

I don't believe I ever stated that I was down on UNC. I think they would be a solid addition and they would bring football which to me should be a must for any addition. If we could find a football playing school to take the place of UMKC I would be all for it. I think the Bears Men's Basketball team just made a statement that they probably belong in the Summit after the performance at the Showcase. Denver and UNC together makes both more likely to stay long term. I am a bit biased in the old NCC ties that UNC would bring. I just think having FCS scholarship football should be mandatory. UNC does check the boxes for a solid add to the Summit. It would be nice if their interest level as a fan base would be higher but I am totally ok with them.

#4 Louisville survives a scare from the Jacks at Frost but wins it 68-64. The Jacks were up 24-12 after one quarter and 31-23 at half. It's a good thing Louisville won because at least that keeps the Jacks on the same planet as the Coyotes. With a win they rocket off to a status well above where the Yotes are currently.

Good news from Omaha depending on your perspective.
Creighton defeated South Dakota State 72-65.
