Its late in the season. The conference is winding down. 3 key games:
SDSU 30 @ USD 30 Home field. great defense should keep the total under 60. homefield is what the Yotes need to squeak it out. NDSU 30 @ ISUr 23 Bison are playing for it all. Home field for the Redbirds means very little in this one. ISUb 0 @ UNI 35 This one almost certainly assures the Panthers a 6-2 record and a spot in the playoffs. Thats 2 Valley teams in with a spot on line in Vermillion.
Heres one that could throw a wrench into the works:
SUI @ WIU. A WIU win would put them at 5-3 and a 3 way tie for third if the other predictions are reliable. This of course invokes the infamous tie breaker.
MSU @ YSU A penguine win really doesnt help them at 4-4. This ones for the Seniors.
If it turns out as indicated above the conference standings will be:
NDSU 6-1 - home field throughout. Undisputed conference champions.
Could the tie breaker keep one of the second place teams out?
USD 5-3 In. Late season troubles will be in the rear view mirror as the Yotes get ready. SDSU 5-3 In UNI 5-3 In
The rest: WIU 4-4 MSU 2-6 ISUb 0-8

WIU is a lock if they beat Indiana State as they would be 8-3. There is no way with that record that they don't make it with their difficult SOS. If they didn't there should be a riot in Macomb. That would be the biggest injustice in FCS history I would imagine.

I’m not sure what’s happening in the rest of the FCS but if 4 can’t go and there is a 3 way tie for second with USD, SDSU and WIU at 5-3 the tie breaker goes to the South Dakota Schools

Just read this:
It appears the Valley is headed for at least five spots with NDSU (9-1), SDSU (8-2), UNI (6-4), Western Illinois (7-3) and either USD (7-3) or Illinois State (6-4). If Illinois State and USD both win, the league could make a case for six.
Looks like a log jam

It's only a log jam if Illinois State wins, which seems incredibly unlikely.

I hope the Yotes play like they have to win today to get in, but after reading the committee chair's interview (link below), I got to think the Yotes are in win or lose. One thing I do not know - maybe someone can shed some light on here - is how closely they look at teams evolution over the year? UND was ranked #10 when we drubbed them, and YSU was #3 - does that matter, or does it only matter they are not ranked now? Does YSU now count as a 'bad' loss for SDSU for that same reason? Here is that link to the interview: www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=20171116103252929290604&ref=hea&tm=&src=FCS

Dom Izzo from Fargo said on Kwsn yesterday that the committee is told to look at the whole season, not just how a team finished etc. I don’t know how they view ranked wins if later we think those teams aren’t as good. But why weren’t they as good is the real ? In UND’s case maybe they were overrated at the time but still good before the injuries mounted. YSU was pretty salty when we played them having just destroyed SDSU. So why should it count for less after they went brain dead at home against Illinois state?

The season ends:
NDSU 7-1 UNI 6-2 SDSU 6-2 USD 4-4 WIU 4-4 ISUr 4-4 YSU 4-4 USI 2-6 MSU 2-6 ISUb 0-8
USD is in a 4-4 log jam. NDSU has it made. SDSU propably a first round bye. UNI on the road first round?
