My family has the parade and FB on in the background, but people are more focused on food and games

It's probably been 10 years since I saw the parade, I usually show up just in time for the Lions game. The football is always on for us but it's also just sort of background noise.

Myself personally, I couldn't care less about the parade, but my wife gets giddy about it. She wants to someday go to NYC over the holiday and watch it live. I think its a good background-type show to have on, and the kids get excited about some of the floats/songs/balloons.
I tease her about being so small-town that anything would entertain her, but there is something comforting about whatever holiday traditions you have, even if its just background noise.

Start with the parade in the morning, then NFL all day long. Usually a college game in the evening that I will flip back and forth.

The NFL has been boring me a little more each year but since the Vikings have the early game I will be watching that closely. I usually don't get up soon enough to watch any parades.

Me personally, I have to much respect for our military and police to watch these imbeciles do their thing. Don't want to get into debate about it, just my thoughts, but I'm done with the NFL for many many years.

The big question when it comes to parade watching is do you watch CBS, NBC, or the Chicago parade on WGN? We watch the CBS broadcast because they actually show the parade, the gloats, balloons, and the bands. NBC shows a production of performances from a staged area, not the parade. The big Tom Turkey float was a big hit in this household this year.

Oh yeah, the Grinch balloon was just on. That was a huge deal here.

We had a split crowd here on that Hello Kitty float. Girl screaming, Hello Kitty! Hello Kitty! Boy screaming, No! No!
This is why we are parade watchers.

*bump*
I can’t believe it’s been a year since I did this poll. Time flies, I guess. I don’t remember if the poll is closed or not, so feel free to keep voting... you know, in the spirit of mythical voter fraud and actual drawn-out vote recounts....
