Regarding low attendance, we know what the problem is, but what about solutions? I'm sure many other universities have this same issue but what should a good marketing program do to possibly boost attendance? Are there any stones that have been left unturned? Maybe it's time for a little brain-storming on practical ideas that are worth a try.
Some possible categories are: ticketing (e.g. packages/pricing); promotions; transportation; scheduling (has its limitations I suppose); and miscellaneous. Has anyone seen a strategy/approach that has worked in the past that should be used again?
Regardless, I think being proactive in these types of situations is a little better than being reactive/critical. One should never stop trying to get more butts in the seats.

when I had younger children they had inflatables at the dome and that made a difference in their desirability level to want to go. I am not sure where they could put something like that in the SCSC but I liked when they used to do that. just making it as family friendly as possible certainly can't hurt. it seems like they never do good halftime shows like they used to as well. the zooperstars were a great idea at the pre season gala. I remember they used to do the Fargo acro tumblers as well which was cool.

I am fairly certain that the actual butts in the seats was closer to 7 or 800 than to 2000 plus. section 116 is probably the most popular section and that struggles to get half full. I don't think the price is keeping people away. aren't tickets only 15.00. that is a bargain considering the quality of basketball and quality of facility. I can see not getting season tickets but for the majority of games there are very good seats available. Attendance of 2100 might be a bit of a stretch, but there were at least 1500 people there. To say that we had three times fewer than the ‘official’ attendance is ludacris. Maybe you went around and counted manually, but I would respectfully say the discrepancy between your numbers and the official is somewhere inbetween the the two. The crowds can be kind hard to gauge depending on how many are in the coyote club, too. I think part of the reason Frost looks like they have a better crowd even though they probably don’t is because it resembles a dingy barn. They dim the lights so you can’t see the upper half of the arena. The other thing to me is that Frost is 3/4 bench seating and that gives people more space to sprawl out so you don’t see a bunch of empty chair backs in return.

I'm in favor of a $5 ticket for senior citizens. My parents go to a lot of DWU and Mount Marty games because it is pretty cheap, even though they are Yote fans.
