If this were an "average" game the score might be a Coyote win 63-57. I think the Coyote's stats are a little skewed by the schedule strength so far.
I'll predict a 69-55 win.

Trimboli is playing with experience. I love her moves under the basket. Elusive.

66-50 final. The Coyotes were up by 29 at one point, but put the freshmen in with 5 minutes left, and Bakersfield's press got to them, with a lot of help from the refs. Lamb with a career night.

The final score of 66-50 was not indicative of how the game went. The Coyotes could have won this by 30 if they would have kept in their starters but they got players like Korngable and Kunzer experience in the last 6 minutes or so which allowed Bakersfield to cut into the final margin.
One word comes to mind when describing CSU-Bakerfield and that is "wreck-less". If they were a car driving through Vermillion they would be going 55 in a 30 zone. They would be running curbs, bending over stop signs and side swiping parked cars along the way. The end result was a head on collision that left them on the losing end.
Half the battle for the Yotes today was simply keeping their composure. Once they got the ball into a good position the rest seemed very easy in their converting baskets. Getting back on D was also important and they did limit the Road Runners in getting easy baskets.
The flagrant (or whatever they want to call it) was because McKeever's elbow hit the defender in the face but it didn't seem like she really swung it very much and certainly not very violently. They looked at it on the monitor and called it a flagrent which is debatable but I can live with it. What I liked about the officials is that McKeever's came in for a layup and had two defenders really create hard contact, especially the trail defender. They looked at the replay and called another fragrant, this time against the Runners. What is fair is fair. They were both just hard plays and are debatable but at least they called it fairly for both teams.
McKeever was once again the best player on the court. She is an "example setting" athlete on how to play the game. She is like the Streveler of the Women's Basketball team. It seemed like in general that the ladies were out there sharing the basketball which is good.
Overall nice win for the team. Go Yotes !!!

Interview with Coach P:
- younger players will learn to deal with the full court press, they did fine.
- Jasmine's been our leading rebounder, not that tall but plays aggressively
- It's important to get those kids in (freshman) to get opportunities to see a tempo game, and develop.
- We can take this time (off) to work on our own game, maybe add a few wrinkles, and not have to use all the time prepping for an opponent.

Our offense was right around our average, and our defense played much much better. A big chunk of their offense was at the end of the game with our freshmen in too.
