The program that prides itself on its character has none whatsoever. Proven time and time again.

The program that prides itself on its character has none whatsoever. Proven time and time again. Hey, once you claim you’ve been forgiven by your savior or say you’re following divine guidance that washes everything away. #sarcasm I mean Stig said he was going to impose his own punishment but it wouldn’t be public. I mean, the man doesn’t even know what beer tastes like, his words not mine, so how could anyone not believe him?

Stig's new motto: "DUI? That's our guy!"

Kid had a DUI and then made the mistake of getting caught drinking again when a recent incident on a scooter saw another Iowa player in trouble. It isn't like he is being charged with raping anyone.

Kudos to Stig for giving the guy another chance (and to Iowa/Ferentz for giving multiple chances too). Kids make mistakes. But certainly Stig/SDSU football recognize this could be seen as being tone-deaf to the seriousness of DUI's, right? 2 P5 transfers with DUI's after the coach was caught with a DUI is not a good look - someone please tell me they understand that...

Actually there is much more to the story, but it is being kept a secret to save face. From what I have gathered it was something that has nothing to do with a DUI, but the articles won't tell you that. Stig the master of sweeping stuff under the table is a perfect fit.

Stig the master of sweeping stuff under the table is a perfect fit. So is the local media market. Just keep it out of the national media, and off of Angela Kenneke's radar, and you are good to go.

Bob and Dave would've said no thanks, too many issues.

No idea as I'm not Bob, I would place a large wager there would be a lot of smack coming from up north compared to what is being received currently. Personally, I wish the best for him and hopefully he can get a grad degree worth his while, no idea what he is studying as his roster page said open major as a senior.

You are right about there being much more to the story. It was much more than just continuing to drink after his DWI. Thankfully for Brandon no charges are being pressed. Iowa is doing the right thing by letting him go, assuming there is truth to the rumors I have heard. In general I normally don't mind seeing kids getting a second chance. I certainly don't think a DWI should prevent kids from ever playing college sports again. I can't sit here and act like USD would never have taken Snyder in if he we had the chance. Maybe we wouldn't, but about the time I say that we will give a kid a second chance after getting kicked out of a bigger school and I will look stupid. If I understand some USD fans correctly, they don't mind so much seeing some guys gets a second chance at State, they just don't like it when many of their fans in the past have tried to claim a moral superiority. However, I would say not all their fans are like that. In fact, with their old AD getting arrested for domestic assault, Stig with the DWI, and all the 2nd chances they are handing out to transfers I think you are seeing less and less of that moral superiority behavior from State fans. From what I hear about Snyder he was a good kid who has been making some poor decisions. I think a change of scenery will do him good, I wouldn't expect to see him in trouble again.

If he had been, Pelini would have been recruiting him. Keep up the trend of lowering your standards and you'll get there eventually.

Yep, bad enough that it wasn't Ferentz that kicked the kid off the team, it was his own teammates on the Leadership Council of which he was a part of. SDSU is completely tone deaf on this issue. The Head DUI-in-Charge brining in DUI transfers. I think I might need a drink to understand it all.

FWIW Danny Rambo ended up pleading to a class 1 misdemeanor for sexual contact with a person capable of consent after initially being charged with 2nd degree rape. Unfortunately the only thing that people remember though is “USD football and rape.” No clue what ends up happening with Dale Williamson. A rape charge is more serious IMO than a dui assuming no one is injured or killed as a result of the dui. That situation is also different than a violent act such as what happened with the Stanford swimmer case. All are wrong but to varying degrees according to the law. With Stig’s dui there is the question of if we believe this is his first time doing this and got caught and what appeared to be a cover up at worst or manipulation of local media (done well) at best. But there is something missing as we play this back and forth game of look what my rival did. I would hope that an AD and coach would be held to a higher standard than a college student.
