Worth noting all USD home games have a free live stream at goyotes.com. You will be stuck with JVG calling the action as opposed to getting Jay Elsen on the Midco feed via ESPN+ though. That is good to know as I will be travelling this weekend and will miss the home opener. (Only home game I will miss this year!)

MVFC Power Poll
Feel free to provide your own, rip this one apart, completely ignore, etc. Could be fun to see how this changes as the season goes along, as it really does look like the MVFC is down a bit.
1. NDSU – beat a bad team at home, but needed a gimmicky ‘all the lights turned off in the Fargo Mall’ play to make it happen
2. SIU – blew out a FCS team on the road
3. ISUr – meh, D2 win
4. USD – some good, some not good, but took P5 to the last play
5. SDSU – no game, so stuck in the middle, but the 4 minutes that were played were not encouraging
6. ISUb – give some love to ISUb for a blowout win! But don’t expect this lofty ranking for long…
7. UNI – a tale of two halves, but an L against a team with a new coach doesn’t bode well
8. WIU – looked OK first half, quite bad 2nd half
9. MSU – didn’t show up for OK St.
10. YSU – I am embarrassed for you YSU fans. Oof.

I thought it was a high school out of Chicago. Can't believe they even scheduled that game. Since we don't even play ISUr, what if we were to end up with the same record with them having that win and us a loss to KState? I would certainly hope we'd get a playoff bid over them, but as of now, they're ranked much higher in virtually every poll.

If you watched the NDSU game was never close. cal-polys only chance was for the lights to stay out. They didn't. It looked to me the Bison were everything they were cracked up to be.
USD looked good too. Good physical play last week. Couldn't get the first downs when needed so Kanasas State had too many chances. I hope this Saturday is not a let down after a great game and a tough loss.
Looking to future member UND. Big game @ Washington. Tough to analyze. UND only allowed only 7 points while giving up almost 300. It was a comedy of errors in the red zone for MVSU but you have to hand it to the UND defense, they forced a punt and a fumble in 7 straight MVSU drives! Minus 27 yds rushing for MVSU too!
Running the spreadsheet based on the one game for each school it's UND -5! Unexpected but not unexplained. UND presented a very stingy defense only allowing 7 points and -27 yds rushing. It was stingy and physical against MVSU but can it be both against Washington?
Using UNDs best game last season and Washingtons Auburn game the spreadsheet results are still suprising but a more realistic UND +8.
Personally I dont think UND will match up physically. Part of that is depth. Nothing against their guys, trainers or coaches but they don't have a lot of proven backups. They looked solid on D though against MVSU.
MVSU was able to pass on them. Washington passed for 296 yds last week.
GAME: UND @ University of Washington PREDICTED WINNER: University of Washington SPREAD: -8 OVER/UNDER: 50 MYTHICAL SCORE: UND 21- Washington 29
Would you take 8 and UND? That's what the numbers say but it's not enough. Washington covers. To go over 50 total score, Washington probably has to get into the 40s. It's doable so for fun take the over.
Somehow this spreadsheet is signaling a possible upset but it's probably a suckers bet. For 20 or more points though, they might be your huckleberry?

Before I even go look up the line I would say it is Washington -28

46 points for UND! Actual score 45-3. Taking the points and UND was the winner.
It was a crazy bet and going to the window thinking UND and 8 just to find it was UND 46! At that point it's a no-brainer and you take UND and 46 points for the win.
We are in a couple games now. Sammy looked bad last night. Tall, thin and physically underdeveloped they aren't a physical team and struggled with a D2. It wasn't impressive. They may have great speed it was hard to tell. UND is a physical football team.
At this point, one game for Sammy and 2 for UND, we have this:
PREDICTED WINNER: SHSU SPREAD: -8 SHSU OVER/UNDER: 58 MYTHICAL SCORE: UND 25 - SHSU 33

I updated the UND results:
UND @ SHSU PREDICTED WINNER: SHSU SPREAD: -2 SHSU OVER/UNDER: 56 MYTHICAL SCORE: UND 27 - SHSU 29
This could be a minor upset for UND.
I'm not impressed with SHSU but I have only seen UND play an inferior opponent. They didn't have much in Washington and their pass defense was average to below. SHSU could have an obove average passing day. If that helps open up the run they could live up to expectations.
Just as a good Washington record will sooth the loss for UND fans the KSU record will be used to denegarate the USD accomplishment at KSU. In my opinion KSU got knocked for a loop by USD. They didn't expect the physical game and they didn't expect to lose almost. The uptown spread going in was ridiculous. It would have ranked the win among histories great upsets. Now KSU has no confidence. It shows. That is as much the fault of USD as anything else. We used to call it "knocking the stuffing out of them".

Everyone's favorite poll to not care about: MVFC Power Poll 1. ISUr – Two good-looking outings to start 2. USD – Two outings with flashes of being great, but still inconsistent 3. SDSU- Drubbed a bad team at home (fully expect MSU to finish bottom-4 of BSC, well below UNC) 4. SIU – Their ‘O’ is cranking, and might be able to simply out-score anyone in MVFC on any given day 5. NDSU – Only one game played so far, and it was at home against a really bad team, but they did dominate 6. WIU – Hung in with a bad P5 team after bad outing in week 1 7. UNI – Only one game played, and didn’t look good playing it 8. ISUb – Was tied with Louisville for a while! 9. YSU – put up a fight with WVU for part of the game, which is more than I expected 10. MSU – disappointing start to the year for MSU; trailed a really bad D2 team 10-0 at one point
Note: as a Power Poll, the 'what have you done for me lately' factor far outweighs the 'how will the season play out' factor.

No suprise here:
University on North Alabama @ NDSU BISON PREDICTED WINNER: NDSU SPREAD: 23 OVER/UNDER: 57 MYTHICAL SCORE: NDSU 40 UNA 17
Too much Bison, too little Bears.
Actual: NDSU 38. UNA 7

The conference might be as tough as ever. There will be more parity this year as I think teams 2-8 can win on any given day. MSU and ISUb seem to be improved as well. UNI and YSU have had a slow start, but one game doesn't dictate a season.
1. NDSU - Will be #1 until proven otherwise T2. ISUr - This is a team that will contend for the top spot in conference. Glad we miss them this year T2. SDSU - Only 1 game, but took care of a decent Montana St. (w/o QB) that beat WIU 4. USD - Should have put UNC away a little more convincing, but have shown the offense will be electric again 5. UNI - Lost a close one @ Montana, have it in Cedar Rapids and it's a win 6. SIU - Offense looks great, defense will be the question T7. WIU - Slow start, but have some playmakers on each side of the ball T7. YSU - Terrible start, but I don't buy they will be pushovers. 9. MSU 10. ISUb
