What a great situation to be in. The best two teams in the league, hands down, are the Jacks and the Yotes. One of two scheduled matchups with a possible third looming in the conference tournament. Whether we go 3-0, 2-1, 1-2, or 0-3, what a heck of a privledge it is to watch two really good teams go at it. I'm not a basketball guy per say, but I honestly believe these two teams are about as even as they can get taking the eyeball test. Daum is being touted as the MVP of the league, and quite frankly, he's earned that press. But I have to think Mooney is going to have something to say about that tomorrow night. To me the starting five favors SDSU by a little bit. The bench favors the Coyotes. Having Hurst out of the lineup hurts as well, but given our depth, next man up.
Both schools have great coaches, both really solid guys. I don't know the SDSU assistant coaches at all, but I have to believe our staff as a whole brings more to the table. All I can say is if this type of game, playing a really good team at home ( and adding it's the Jacks ), doesn't get your competitive juices flowing starting about 3 days ago, then maybe you should take in a movie tomorrow night instead of this game. However, if you love to compete, then get your butt to the SCSC early, be loud but respectful ( just kidding ) and be prepared to witness one hell of a game.
Go Yotes

The only reason I bring that up - Hurst being out dramatically effects how that guy is handled. Wonder if they will double team Daum and have Mooney/Simpson stay home on Jenkins? Or see if he fires up a bunch of ill-advised shots and see if he is hot or not?

But, in football way, people said similar things about the Vikings and the Eagles. I am looking forward to the game. Quit frankly, it could go either way with anything from multiple overtimes to a complete blowout. I wish I could be there.

The key will be stopping Telly (Sloth from Goonies) from the 3pt line. He will either be 0-10 or 8-10.

The Yotes look quite a bit better on offense since Hurst went out. Not sure if that is better than having the lock down defender in however.

Go Yotes this post is right on the money. most coyote fans care about playing the jacks and most jacks fans will expect nothing less than beating the Yotes. this is and how things have always been and is also why the jacks will continue to dominate the series in sports that matter.

Jenkins Jr has made 58 3 pt shots this year to lead the squad with Daum close at 55. Almost 43% of the FGA are 3 pt shots. They are averaging just under 43% on those. King at 35.7% is the only starter shooting under 42% from long range. Flatten is shooting just over 50%. The green light will be on for the shooters to take the open shots. The USD defense that allows 67 points and the SDSU offense that averages 87 points ought to make for a great game.

Interesting to note that he is from the same area as Trey Burch-Manning and that the two played together on the same AAU teams during Jenkin’s sophomore and junior years of high school. Jenkins said that he and Burch-Manning hang out together when they are back in Tacoma/Federal Way.

Got my tickets. Middle three sections on both sides sold out. Still plenty in the upper part of the corners and ends. Lets sell this thing out. Last year the official count was 5265. There is no reason not to at least sell THIS game out every year. Would rather see red than blue in the stands, so let's go, Sioux Falls alums!
Huge game with conference implications. Can't wait.

Following up on oldhare's comment (I didn't know they shot that many 3s), and after listening to Coach Smith on KWSN - where Gaskins asked 5 versions of 'SDSU's offense is so amazing, how can you possibly keep up?' - I was curios about team O/D. So, here it is:
Rabbits Offense YTD: 87.0 (9th nationally) Rabbits Offense SL: 91.6 (1st in SL)
Coyotes Offense YTD: 80.6 (47th nationally) Coyotes Offense SL: 76.3 (4th in SL)
Rabbits Defense YTD: 75.1 (250th nationally) Rabbits Defense SL: 77.0 (4th SL)
Coyotes Defense YTD: 67.1 (59th nationally) Coyotes Defense SL: 67.3 (1st SL)

as much as most will argue otherwise the only game that matters is the one is Sioux falls. let's just hit the fast forward button. the coyotes could sweep the jacks and it wouldn't matter if they don't beat them at the tourney. Wednesday's game is nothing but a warm up. give the auto bid to the regular season champ and it means everything but that is not how it works.

Wednesday's game is nothing but a warm up. give the auto bid to the regular season champ and it means everything but that is not how it works. It matters. A game that draws 3x or 4x a typical game matters. The alumni that donate big $ want USD to win this game. The diehard fans and casual fans alike want to win this game. Sweeping the Jacks in the regular season might not guarantee a ticket to the dance, but it creates a buzz with the fans, recruits, players, and media. That matters, if you care about growing USD athletics. I want bragging rights in my office, and every chance to beat the Jacks in a big 3 sport matters. I mean, how do you spend as much time as you do posting about USD sports and not think that this game matters?

It absolutely matters. A conference championship and tournament seeding are on the line. Both are very important.

I've got to admit, I really don't know if CF actually means what he is saying lately, or if he is just posting stuff that no one truly believes, but is just doing it to get a rise out of certain people. It reminds me of when Rush Limbaugh used to be on the radio - I always assumed the show producers laughed about some of the whoppers when the show was done for the day, and how some people were going to react.
