I hope the ladies are ready mentally for this one today. Defense travels and hopefully they can continue their ability to turn teams over for easier buckets.

Crazy game Denver just played with Western Illinois! They lost, but scored 93 points including 18 made 3-pointers! I recall coach P after the last game with Denver talking about being careful not to leave their shooters open on the arc, because they will burn you.
Looks like she was right to respect Denver's perimeter game.

Do we even need to talk about anything other than the Denver score of 23 at half time. That tells you all you need to know about the the Coyotes readiness for this one. Since it has to be done the Coyotes have 42. It is hard not to totally love this team.
My favorite part of the game is listening to the Altitude TV broadcast. They are complimenting (pretty much gushing) about the Coyotes and calling them the best team in the Summit League which is of course true. When they are talking about them their is no talking about best teams with a HUGE "BUT" attached to the end of it like we constantly get from the media in South Dakota. The Coyotes are the best team period, not "BUT" folks. We should really appreciate the professionalism of their broadcast as they are the Colorado regional sports network like Fox Sports North is for Minnesota. Of course I am biased towards the Yotes but I am also a Colorado Avalanche fan so I can definitely appreciate this network. They also actually call the USD team the Ki-Yotes and the the Ki-Yote-ees.
The Coyotes could probably be a little better with ball movement in this one but other than that who can really complain. I had a feeling the Women would bounce back just fine from the Rabbit game and they have just fine so far. Lot's of props to this basketball team for the way they go about their business. This is a workmanlike performance so far.
I also noticed all the smiles on the Coyote players faces when they were getting ready for tip off. They were talking about probably joking with each other right before the game. What a friendly and relaxed group. This goes all the way to the end of the bench as the players that don't play much are still very into the game and cheering the starters on. I think that is super cool. This team has fun all around and it is evident when watching them.

Bradley now with 3 steals... It's hard to know what players will lead in scoring, steals, 3pts, rebounding, etc. from game to game. I think that makes it hard for opposing teams to just key in on certain players. Hard to gameplan for the Coyotes.

I think it will. Psychology is such an important part of college sports.

Coyotes forcing 15 turnovers so far - right on schedule. Briana Johnson (I assume she plays point) is the latest victim of this stat. She is 2/3 assist/TO ratio(.67). Her average is one of the best in the League at 1.57
The Coyotes are a combined 12/6 assist/TO right now! Good ball control. Denver is 11/15
We are outrebounding them 35-19

66-40 3rd Q
Denver scored 93 on WIU, but it looks like this game will be closer to the Coyote's averages.

82-60 Final. Great game. Total control from start to finish.
42-27 rebounding. Nice effort there against the top rebounding team!

I will never take credit away from the players after a game like this but Dawn P deserves a ton of credit today for having this team ready today. This is a day game 1 day and a half after a huge rivalry game and a trip to high altitude. It was nice to see Jaycee not only just simply out on the court but playing well. This bodes well that her injury isn't going to be something that prevents her from being her normal self.
Dawn was in a better and giddier mood than normal. She is usually very businesslike in her post game interviews after wins but today she was happy. She has had more recent bigger road wins but there was something about today that made her very satisfied and can you really blame her. The Coyotes had 3 road games left and this was the toughest of the bunch. The Coyotes now have to go into the gauntlet of Omaha and Fort Wayne - HA HA. The rest are in the friendly confines.
