I kid. Actually, Baxter Arena is a really nice facility (to watch hockey). The seats are leather, according to my source. For basketball, it's pretty good, too, other than the at-grade seating on the ends: For some reason, Baxter Arena has done well in basketball attendance this year, despite both UNO teams performing poorly. Respect to the UNO marketing department. Also, there has been a spike in attendance for both the SDSU and USD games, both Men and Women. Whether this is due to NCC nostalgia, lots of Yote and Jack alumni in Omaha, or just the fact that we are the best teams this year, who knows? For whatever reason, our girls may be treated to a lively crowd.

Massey has us winning 78-60.
While an 18-point spread in basketball is pretty high, I just think this could get even uglier for the Mavs. They are one of the worst teams in the conference in turnover stats, and we are one of the best. both in turning it over and forcing turnovers.
About the only stat they have excelled in is committing the fewest fouls in the conference. That's it.
I could see the Yotes getting up by 20 at the half, and pulling the starters in the 4rth. Maybe the margin is narrowed in garbage time. I don't like disrespecting an opponent, but unless the Coyotes get very cold in shooting, this should be a fairly easy win. If not, it would be a wake-up call.

With their court being a hockey rink, do they have condensation problems? I ask, because when the Lynx were playing at the X this past year, that was one of the things that the they had a problem with. The court was slippery in the corners.

Been to a couple of games there and I've never really notices anything along those lines, nor have I ever heard anyone mention anything about this. I don't think there's ice under the basketball floor during games although it would seem to me to be a pain to convert back and forth from hockey to hoops.

Not trying to start a debate or derail the thread, I just think their numbers are reported a bit high so it might be misleading

Makes sense, but it hasn't been chilly in there at all that I noticed and usually permanent ice affects the atmosphere to some degree. Must be really well insulated then.

They should report it accurately. by not they are only cheating themselves.

Been to a couple of games there Let us know if you go to this game (or anyone else in Omaha). Would love to hear about it. Also, what was your impression of the place? I sometimes find myself in Omaha.

Definitely worth going to a game if you're in Omaha and the Coyotes are in town. It's a very nice venue, new, modern and with all the amenities, but since it's a multisport arena, I thought it lacked some atmosphere...too much empty space for hoops that almost makes it somewhat Dakota Domeish. My sources told me that it really fills up and gets crazy for UNO hockey.

It’s just so silly that we don’t play Omaha in doubleheader’s allowing fans to travel to the games. Even worse when we played the women at home and men on road in same day. If they played both in Omaha on that Saturday I bet even more USD fans would travel to that hame and more local alumni would attend.

Didn't they do exactly what you described in the NCC days? There are a LARGE group of USD alumni in Omaha. Definitely a missed opportunity. You could probably say the same about games in Brookings, Denver and Fargo.

Didn't they do exactly what you described in the NCC days? In NCC days, it was common for men and women to be playing doubleheaders either away or at home. I worked at KVHT/KVTK during my early days of college, so I spent a lot of long days/nights at the station keeping the games on the air when we had doubleheaders.
