Common sense doesn't apply to conference scheduling in D-1. Didn't they do exactly what you described in the NCC days? In NCC days, it was common for men and women to be playing doubleheaders either away or at home. I worked at KVHT/KVTK during my early days of college, so I spent a lot of long days/nights at the station keeping the games on the air when we had doubleheaders. Well, I'll try to do my part in supporting the idea the double-headers are the way to go. I'll be dragging my wife and son down to Vermillion on Saturday. Sold tickets speak volumes IMO. Let's Defend the Den on Saturday, and get a good turnout! Instead of counting butts, it would be great if we could start counting EMPTY seats (because there would be so few of them.... get it?)

I think the scheduling is easier said than done considering most of the schools are further away than old NCC foes, but it seems like the schedule has so many missed opportunities that the committee didn't give much thought in the process. It would be interesting to have conversation with someone who is involved.

Nice game by the Coyotes. Is it acceptable for us to just expect this team to continue to win these types of road game by over 20. I am not going to take this team for granted personally and I am going to enjoy every second of this run. The Coyotes played suffocating defense and that was being mentioned multiple times by the Omaha video guy. The Coyotes absolutely lived up to their given name in this thread. They were as pesky as pesky can be tonight. The offense wasn't that good in the first half but if they continue to play D like tonight they will win almost every game by being simply average to below average on offense.
The Coyotes have now clinched an undefeated road record in the Summit. I wonder when the last time a Coyote Women's team has finished undefeated on the road in their given conference (not counting the Great West) if it has ever happened.

Bringing my family as well as some friends. Bought 11 total tickets.

Since we are talking about Saturday I am very happy to be making the trip as well and can't wait. I want a 10 team conference so badly so we can hopefully have more worthy home games and especially double headers. We know UND will make 9 and wouldn't it be nice to have another surprise school such as UNC decide to come with them. I just hope Fort Wayne waits to leave until we have 10 teams the year immediately following their departure. I would almost take UMKC just to make sure we have 10 teams, but that is almost because I still don't want them.

Thanks for posting the box score! With V-Day festivities I wasn't able to watch the game. The stats tell a story of limited minutes for the starters. Duffy and Lamb were the only players with 30 minutes and most had 20. Great defense again from the Pestering Pack. I wonder if Lamb is being groomed for starting point guard duty next year? She seems to have an aptitude for it. I've seen glimpses of some pretty mature court vision from her this year in a limited role. This team is DIALED IN and stabbing for the jugular. You can hear it in Coach P's recent interview. We aren't settling for the WNIT this year.

Massey has us winning 78-60. While an 18-point spread in basketball is pretty high, I just think this could get even uglier for the Mavs. They are one of the worst teams in the conference in turnover stats, and we are one of the best. both in turning it over and forcing turnovers. About the only stat they have excelled in is committing the fewest fouls in the conference. That's it. I could see the Yotes getting up by 20 at the half, and pulling the starters in the 4rth. Maybe the margin is narrowed in garbage time. I don't like disrespecting an opponent, but unless the Coyotes get very cold in shooting, this should be a fairly easy win. If not, it would be a wake-up call. Actual score: 72-50 Turnovers: Yotes 13, Mavs 20 Points off TO: Yotes 19, Mavs 8 Points in paint: Yotes 32, Mavs 22 Assist/TO ratio: Yotes 1.54, Mavs 0.55 Personal Fouls: Yotes 21, Mavs 13 Only up by 11 at the half, but by 23 in the 3rd Q, and by 22 for the final score...
