Any word on more Aussie prospects?
Right! Forgot about Koster. That makes 12 scholarships for next year. Only one more available, unless he "encourages" Jovic to transfer. I think the staff really likes Jovic and were happy they could RS him

I know there were some rumors that Noah Freidel might be coming to the U instead of Wright State ... looks like State got him instead.

Epic fail by this staff to let Freidel end up anywhere but USD. Why does our school de-value local players so much in football and mbb?

I don't honestly know. All hearsay that Smith wasn't interested but that Lee liked him and was. And yes, I think they're all members of the Armour Freidel clan.

FWIW I heard Lee was interested, but it begs the question if a coach should put a whole lot of effort into trying to recruit someone who's already committed to another school, and I wonder if that's even legal to do. A far as epic failure, I don't know the exact scholarship situation right now and I'm too lazy to figure it out, but we're fairly close to, if not, full while SDSU has all kinds of openings. I can only speculate that NF saw opportunity and decided to stay closer to home. I'll also throw this in the pot that he's pretty much redundant to Kanon Koster, not that a team can ever have enough good players.

Believe what you want, but most of what you wrote is incorrect.

Believe what you want, but most of what you wrote is incorrect. What exactly is incorrect? That Lee wasn't interested? Sorry, wrong... not giving the source on here. Us not having the scholarships? Don't know for sure, maybe, but we're close to full. SDSU having available scholarships? Seems to me they would with the defections, but I'll admit having no concrete knowledge of their situation. Redundant to Kanon Koster? The skill set, size, position and projection of these two seem to be very similar. Feel free to expand on your reply instead of just dismissing mine.

Noah wanted to come to USD, Lee was only offering a walkon spot at this time. he was so upset that USD would not offer a scholarship he wanted to go somewhere that would allow him to take it to us twice a year. State offers him that opportunity. He is determined to show Lee that he made a big mistake. Our coaches have been in contact with him but they just keep encouraging him to walk on and that maybe a scholarship would open up down the road.

Sorry to have been dismissive, I guess I'm just angry.
The lack of effort to get him goes back far before the last few weeks. I believe if we wanted him bad enough he would be here. This type of signing would've driven excitement and given the program the shot in the arm it really needs. It frustrates me to no end having to watch them get another great local player. Hopefully Koster turns out to be Mooney 2.0.

I believe SDSU has one open scholarship if Jenkins stays 2 if he leaves. There are 8 returning players including Jenkins and one non-scholarship player and 5 commits, 2 juco transfers and three freshmen. In the unlikely case that Grill comes after all and Jenkins stays SDSU would be full up.
