kwsn.com/podcasts/sports-talk-with-kwsn/5093/mick-garry-argus-yotes-change-sports-slogan-but-what-does-it-mean/KWSN had Mick on yesterday to discuss the new slogan. Crib notes: - It's better than FeaRED. - This is par for the course, they always have marketing branding and planning. - What is the message? Highlighting the athletic progress USD has now made recently. Now we are a genuine peer to SDSU. Then they go into a long discussion of inferiority complex... I disagree with Mick on this. Rabbit Fans are far more insecure, roaming through the interwebs looking for a fight... And discussing how USD/SDSU fight over local athletes... Mick says (rightly) that it doesn't matter how many SD kids you have riding the bench, you need to get the best players.

I have been wondering when the FeaRed campaign would be retired. I have assumed that one of your Spanish instructors would quietly whisper in an ear in the USD PR department to translate that: translate.google.com/#es/en/FeaFWIW, I don't speak Spanish. This was pointed out to me by a USD Alumnus shortly after the FeaRed campaign was begun. I will miss that little smile and chuckle I always experienced when I saw FeaRed on a T-shirt or billboard.
