Money is fungible. If programs are cut money is returned to the general fund. If new programs are started money is taken from the general fund. Was one cut to start the other? Was Peter robbed to pay Paul? It's really no argument Kiyoat. if you can't see the connection that's ok. That's one of the reasons money is fungible. In the end it's all the same no matter their intent: the esports arena and other new programs are underway and the other programs are closed. I thought I owed you that clarification considering your rare kindness in pointing out my error in the use of dominate in place of dominant. I guess it boils down to appearances, and as my Mother always said appearances are everything. For those that are interested here is the link for the espn esports section. I was a little suprised by the extensive nature of the sport. esports are world wide in a way other sports aren't. That struck me when I looked at the participants of the Rift of the North. There was no divisional distinction between the schools. In fact one of the smallest schools won and it wasn't even considered an upset. www.espn.com/esports/

... I thought I owed you that clarification considering your rare kindness in pointing out my error in the use of dominate in place of dominant. I guess it boils down to appearances, and as my Mother always said appearances are everything... You're welcome. And just to clarify, caring about grammar and spelling isn't really about appearances at all. It's about using the English language correctly. I know that grammar Nazis aren't generally popular on message boards, but 'frankly my dear, I don't give a damn'. Feel free to correct my grammar or spelling whenever you see an error. I won't take it personally. To me it's more of an educational experience. I'd prefer you respond to recent posts, though. Eight months is a long time. My memory isn't like an elephant's. On the topic of esports... I don't think I ever suggested that esports was a bad idea, so you can put that straw-man to bed.

This video is called "A New Hero: The Rise of College Esports" it explains how Heros of the Dorm and the Heroic Four tournaments really were game changers. 482 colleges and universities participated. The NCAA has nothing on this. They play for something important and real: college tuition. Its long and I have only seen the first 20 minutes or so. I run it on screen while working. Ill finish it tomorrow.
Here's another video, only 9 minutes or so taking you back to the begining in the 80s to today "How esports changed the game: From media laughingstock to media craze":
One of the criticisms seemed realistic. The games could be easily fixed. One of the things that is apparent: esports is huge surpassing everything out there right now including the NFL and College Basketball. The live events are huge with rock bands and gaming on screen. The college tournaments have no NCAA lording over them and no divisions resulting in 482 colleges and universities sending teams to the Heros of the Dorm!
