I believe they played 4 game minutes before heading to the locker rooms

They played less than 5 minutes. Game was called after Iowa State scored. This isn’t your dads Iowa State team of old, they will finish in the middle of Big 12. They lost to Iowa and Oklahoma last week in a relatively close game.

... They are 0-2 and better suited to MVFC play. Iowa State will surprise some people this year. They only lost by 10 to #5 Oklahoma last weekend.

While the Clones aren't the Clones of old there has to be some concern in Ames when you look at the schedule. 0-2 right now, Akron coming to town which should be winnable, but they did beat what is supposed to be a decent Northwestern team last week. After that you are staring at TCU, Okie State, and WVU all in a row. Don't win this week and their is serious potential of starting the season 0-6. At that point you are dealing with a demoralized team and while their should be some wins on the back half of the schedule with Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas St, and now Incarnate Word, it's going to be very hard to claw your way back to bowl eligibility. ISU needs a win this week and then at least one win during the TCU, Okie St, WVU run.

jackedforlife , just curious. Why are you responding to, and arguing with, Yotes? His post was essentially defending SDSU's strategy. Re-read the first sentence. There are far more nakedly anti-Jacks takes in here. Oh, and BTW, thanks for joining the discussion. It has been a while since we have had much meaningful Jacks participation. It's fun to get different perspectives when they are non-trolling. Not really meaning to argue, I'm merely pointing out that I believe those reps for the 2s, 3s, and 4s are incredibly meaningful. As we all know a team is only as good as it's depth and experience. Any time the reserves can get more than just a few minutes in mop up time it's valuable. Many people want to leave the game when it's a blowout, I'm the one watching even closer to see how that 3rd string kid is doing.
It will be interesting how both the Jacks and the Bison do next week. There are so many ways it goes down and quite frankly none would surprise me...well I guess if the Jacks blow them out at home I would be shocked.

Interesting note about SDSU, going into the Bison game the Jacks haven't faced a starting quarterback yet this season, ouch talk about being thrown into the fire. I'd be more concerned if it wasn't a guy they've already seen. Stick is really good but it isn't like they haven't spent time preparing for him and playing against him. Heck I think Stick is a QB they've prepared to play more than any other starting QB.

Yes they have played more games against Stick than any other QB, they have also played more games in the fargodome than any other stadium other than DJD.

Did your dad play at Iowa state? If so, please PM me if you would his name and dates. I’ve been close to that program for years

No he didn’t play for the cyclones. He also graduated from NDSU and was an officer in AGR. He didn’t play but my great, great, great (?) uncle Dick was captain of the 1915 Bison team. That must have been quit a trip to Vermillion in those days.

From what I hear this is one of the best ndsu teams of all time. SDSU went to Fargo and gave them all they can handle. Whether we like it or not SDSU is for real. They are not overrated and they appear to be better than last year. This is not good news.

They would have won if they could have figured out how to stop Stick on the ground. I bought into the anti-hype of other posters here and thought they'd get steamrolled. Still would like to see them against the rest of the MVFC. This game is their Super Bowl, weird results can come out of these.
