Great game to watch! Wichita was very physical, athletic and really got after it on the defensive end. I can't imagine we'll see anybody in conference who plays with their hair on fire like they did. When they switched from man to zone in the second quarter we struggled, but then really seemed to figure out the offense during halftime and even with the halftime changes they made to their zone we came out strong. Same thing in the third quarter after we started torching the zone and they switched back to man...lull in the offense for awhile, but that's a valuable learning experience. This was a great game against a quality opponent and I would bet they got a lot out of it and it made the team better.

I loved the atmosphere at the Pentagon. Great facility, terrific turnout, and the fans really got into it, especially during the second half. One thing I love about our team is that we are able to use the bench a lot and I think that's really going to help us as we get into conference play later on. Nice job ladies.

What an impressive performance by Coyote women against Wichita. The shots were not falling in the first half, but they found a way to still put points on the board and played solid D. The effort and hustle were outstanding all night. Coach P is intense...I like her style.

It was a solid game by the Lady Yotes! Couple of very good stats--Coyotes were 30 of 36 from the free throw line for 83% and they scored over 20 more points than WSU had been giving up. Kelly Stewart was probably right when she said they wouldn't face another defense that will play a whole game like Wichita did with their hair on fire. They were athletic and good quickness.
