It’s 16-3. Jacks seem to be pulling away. They are able to break off big runs. They have been effective on the passing game too. Not many fans there of course. The Owls look good but something seems to happen to ruin drives. Only a couple minutes left in half. Jacks are starting to roll collecting another fumble.
Is it possible that 10 fumble game the Jacks suffered through means it’s their turn to cash in now? Could be a long run for them if it does.

WOW! Will wonders never cease? During the half-time of the SDSU@KSU game they just called the SDSU/NDSU rivalry the top rivalry in the FCS right now! Many have criticized it as fake but the crowds and the games have risen above that. Next week, if the Jacks can pull this off, there will be a huge game in Fargo. Its not known if the Marker will be up for grabs, I doubt it.

Bison are 39-3 over the last three years, two of their losses have been to SDSU and one to JMU. Hope to make their record 39-4 next week.

As stated by gorabbits, the 'Marker game is in play for regular-season games only (not playoff games). There have been 15 Marker games. NDSU has won 9 and SDSU has won 6. NDSU took it back to Fargo this season after the 'Marker stayed in Brookings for the 2016 ad 2017 seasons.

The EWU/UCD is best of the day. This is a real barn burner.

To our bunny friends--lest your heart thumpings get too carried away (despite talk of a short series "rivalry 'marker?' game"), if you go back to the 2015 season the bison record is 52-5 and the most significant loss to a MVFC team that will haunt them for a long time is the Coyote win in Fargo in 2015 when they had some guy by the name of Carson Wentz at QB and their 26 game conference win streak at home was snapped!
Oh and if you want to really talk FCS rivalry series that would be Harvard-Yale who have been playing since 1875. USD and xdsu began football in 1889 and the bison in 1894.

Its an inconsistant series too, certainly not played every year since the 1880s. When those schools did make the move and had to start the Great West it really did ignite something. It was a big game from the start, drawing national attentention, and may have opened some reluctant D1 eyes at the other NCC schools to the potential of a move up.
Being the first Division 1 football to be played in the Dakotas the game took on a status reserved for it and it alone. That gave it a lot of momentum drawing in a lot of neutral, but interested fans. That momentum has continued to build and this game is just going to add fuel to the fire.
Both South Dakota schools have handled the Bison in the D1 era. It makes things interesting for all fans of the MVFC. In fact any time 2 Dakota Schools meet it is a big deal. This time the stakes are pretty high.

Honestly, none of their regular season losses have haunted them these past several years. They still never had to travel for even one playoff game. Fun fact: The only tume NDSU ever travelled for a road playoff game was in their first playoff appearance back in 2010, they went 1-1.

They would not have as many championships if they had to play some road games. Bit of a non-sequitur. Probably a few other teams that would have titles if they could have hosted every game. Those teams didn't earn it though. Looking back into the past 8 years of NDSU football, there was only one time where they had even 2 losses in the regular season (2015 to Montana and USD). That is the lone season in their title run where they didn't outright clinch home field advantage through the playoffs, but lucked out when 2 seed Illinois State lost in the quarterfinals. That program is an absolute machine. I hope Kleiman goes to K-State and everyone gets a chance to catch up. Of course I had the same thoughts when Bohl left, but maybe they'll screw up the hire this time.

It is easy to forget that every week they have a bullseye on their back and get their opponent's absolute best shot. They have handled that exceptionally well.
