The excuses are very much running out for Jacks fans claiming superiority over the Yotes. USD is now ahead in football and mens basketball. USD hasn't been ahead long but they are firmly implanted as the team of South Dakota in football.
Jacks fan typical response. "But Minnesota isn't really that good, the win was good but anyone could beat Minnesota". But on the otherhand "Illinios State is a great program, they are going places in the Valley this year". "Delaware is a great team, we will play better next week". After USD beat Cal Poly and SDSU lost to them on the same field. "USD was lucky as Poly isn't that good". "SDSU played a horrible game in California and wasn't ready for the game."
In hoops, USD is light years ahead of where SDSU was in year 3. USD can legitimately stake claim to the better basketball program right NOW. Finished higher in the RPI, plays well on the road and nearly ran the table in their conference. Meanwhile the Jacks finally win their first conference road game in what the 20th try. Ouch, it feels good to be a Yote fan today.

Thread started 4 days ago and this is the first response. Safe to say that popular sentiment that USD needs and is obsessed with SDSU is completely false judging from the lack of activity on this thread.
For fun I went to the Bunny board to see what was up. Of course you are stirring the pot over there CF, but they also have at least 4 threads dedicated to USD. Our success combined with their dismal failure so far this season has the Jack faithful in a tizzy. I'd say they are the ones obsessed with USD, not the other way around. I can't wait to see what their attendance drops to if the season continues this way. I'll predict about 5500 for that Nov 6 game against Missouri St. At least they will have an invasion from the Sioux faithful for their last game of the year to keep the attendance for that game respectable, even if the stands are half green.

Yeah, not everyone gets worked up about the bunnies, but I am waiting to see what else happens in Nebraska so I can pile on more hopefully haha.
But I should be capitalizing now! This shows how bad both teams need to play. The Jacks cost themselves a lot by playing at Delaware honestly. They say the USD game is too risky, well that Delaware game was a DISASTER for the Jacks. They would've been better off playing USD, even for the first game.
SDSU should just stay in state and play USD each year, and yes it may be a risky play-off move, but the money that can be made would be worth it.
Plus what's more embarassing, losing to a ranked USD school in a rivalry game, or traveling out toe Delaware and getting their butts absolutely handed to them, or losing a 40-point lead to Montana in the playoffs?
I don't mean to be completely bashing SDSU, because I think Sayler and Sell will get things worked out, but the SDSU fans need to start realizing that this game needs to happen.

Q. How can you tell if you are talking to a level headed Jackrabbit fan?
A. His chew is dripping out of both corners of his mouth.

LOL, notkiotees,
I obviously am full of temptation to smack the Jacks. The thing is I have really stayed away from them for the most part for quite awhile. Some of them like to say they just smack me and my comments but even when I stay away they still talk down USD. I don't believe I said a thing when they lost to Montana. I could have jumped all over that. In fact I have an online buddy that has been razzing me about getting over there more often. It makes no sense to rationally argue anything.
In my latest smack thread in one response they said I don't use enough humor. They've had plenty of responses to the pendulum thread but it's very hard to refute much of what I oringally stated on the thread. USD is on the fast rise in football and SDSU is on the fast decline. How long it will last who knows but as of right now, USD is the more highly regarded program. Lets keep it that way. I used good timing in making my first strike in months. USD as of right now has a slight edge in football and mens basketball. In mens hoops USD had the better season and despite the weaker conference was still ranked higher in the final RPI. The football has aways to go to permanently stay ahead of the Jacks but SDSU travels to Nebraska and UNI so they could be and should be 0-4. If USD can just win one against NDSU or UND they should keep the higher podium.

Hey Mr. Coyotefan! I'm glad to see you went over to the JackDreamerLand board finally and shook them up a little bit. They continue to be just a complete 'joke' about their beloved Jackie football team. I wonder how they feel about being pretty much out of the playoff picture two games into the season? Oh they will say that The Infamous One, The One and Only SD4ever doesn't know anything about football but the probability of the boys from Brooksville making it is less than 10% at best. They will get just hammered in Lincoln this weekend. If they keep the game within 50 points they will probably be on their little on line tabloid touting it as just as good of an achievement as the Yote win over the Gophers. Oh but The Coyote Nation needs to understand that the Minnesota team is just really terrible compared to the one they barely lost to last season. You see what I mean? What a JOKE!
Anyway it is good to see this board starting to take off. I've got a lot of "smack" building up inside of me ever since I was ejected from sdscollegefans.com. I constantly just blew them away and they could not deal with it. I would have loved it if they would have been on the d2 board when I was in my hey day. It would have been a field day for The One and Only. By the way I am a Senior now. Next year here I come USD. Oh oh! LOL

I was just thinking, remember back in the day when Nebraska would run up the score on an opponent just to make a statement. What if Bo Pellini decisde to get nostalgic against SDSU Saturday and treat the hometown fans to a 100 point day. The folks at Nebraska have been very outspoken they are not happy about playing an FCS school and that they will not be scheduling games against FCS'ers in the future. What if UNL uses this game to prove a point that they should not be contracting these games anymore?
I actually feel sorry for SDSU having to face that beast on Saturday, oh, and I hate the Huskers.

I think SDSU made a pretty good point last week by blowing out Washington and killing Locker's Heisman and number one overall pick status.....so I don't know how big of a statement destroying SDSU would be after putting up 55 against a PAC-10 opponent last week.

Just to keep that train rolling in the voters eyes. Wasn't it Oregon who jumped a bunch of spots for winning 77-0 earlier this year. Points mean votes.

Yeah, but Nebraska did the damage with Washington in the voters eyes that a huge win over SDSU means nothing now. No one really knew what to expect from Oregon with a new QB and there were a ton of question marks and that answered it. Nebraska made itself the frontrunner of the Big 12 last week. The SDSU game doesn't mean much basically since everyone knows Neb is going to win 50-0.

Speaking of Oregon are they crazy good or what. I would like to see some new blood in the National Title game and the Ducks would be a nice change. They just can't afford to stub their toe. This might be their year though with USC being down and no other Pac 10 teams being really deadly.

You mean besides Stanford who has the best QB in the nation with Andrew Luck? Or Arizona who just took down Iowa? The PAC-10 is strong then you think.

Great job by the Jacks today versus Nebraska. Like it or not USD and SDSU can both be good, and the competition will drive both teams to better places.
Can't wait until USD and SDSU play again - will be HUGE - If done right there will be 20,000+ in attendance (if seating allows)
USD will have better nights than they did tonight - they were physically dominated 2nd Half bottom line.
Have a lot of improvement to do rest of the season.
