They probably didn't want to have their women's coach making more than their men's coach, even though there are miles between them in experience and accomplishments. I'd be interested to know what the Summit League averages are in both sports.

It makes sense that his "market value" was higher than Hendo's. I'm not saying Hendo should have a lower salary than he now does. I have no idea what the going rate is in the conference. You have to pay competitively to keep the best coaches, but it's silly to pay more than you need to with an unproven commodity, IMO. Make him earn it. Look what happened in Fargo with their 6-year contract for a crappy women's coach.

So Henderson is making more than AJ? That's somewhat ridiculous when you think about it.

Jenkins follows Coach O to UNLV which leaves state all told with returning scorers bringing only about 450 points from last year's total scored of about 2950. Wow....

Jacks just picked up a transfer from Memphis, David Wingett from Winnebago, Nebraska. They had recruited him before he went to Memphis and now he is transferring back. He is a 6' 7" He has four years of eligibility left and MAY be able to play immediately.

He had a medical redshirt from an injury last year. My understanding is that there MAY be a basis for asking the NCAA for immediate eligibility related to the medical redshirt and the way he was released at Memphis. Also word on the street is that Bandon Key will be back this fall. He was not on the team last year and has a year of eligibility left if I understand correctly. He has been expected to start last year.

He could be a good SL player. Key seemed pretty volatile 2 years ago when I watched him, which was pretty much only against USD. He did not play well in the first 2 games, but did in the SLT game. I thought he was kicked off the team, or maybe he was just in TJ's dog house? Would help with another proven player coming back.

With Grill going to Iowa State, is that what is known as a win/win for yoteforever? Never saw this until tonight. For sure is a win/win. I talked with TJ and he told me he’s the real deal. Glad to see he won’t compete against us. 👍

YFE - Since you are friends with TJ, do you have any insight you can share on why Brandon Key didn't play for the Ag College last year, but will likely be back on the roster for the upcoming season?

No I don’t. And to be honest if I had and he didn’t want it out I wouldn’t say anyway. But to answer your question we never discussed him. He holds Coach Hendo in very high regards and feels he will do a good job.
