Wasn't able to watch the game, Jacks with a nice first round game. I am rooting for them, better for the SL.

Agreed, it wouldn't have been a good look for the summit if we lost both our teams in the first round. I don't want the committee to regret allowing a second team in. Hopefully this helps, even if we were the ones to get the at large. I still can't get over how poorly we shot in the 2nd half last night. Disappointing last two games to a good season.

Jacks made all the media calling for an upset smart yesterday. Beat 3-seed Syracuse on their home floor 75-64. That should help the perception of the Summit as a deserving 2-bid league. A Summit team in the Sweet 16 is another first in a season of firsts.
I wasn't able to watch it, but the box score had the attendance at 2,474. Syracuse has a home average of 2,444 so I guess that was a typical crowd. The Carrier Dome is a large venue (35,642 for basketball). Had to feel kinda empty. They should consider a smaller venue for their women's team IMO. Zimmer confirmed in his twitter account the 'Cuse crowd was hardly a factor.
Macy had a double-double, Maddie was 6-10 from the arc, and Myah scored 17. Pretty typical, statistically. Actually, Macy only scoring 11 was the atypical part. Oregon should be worried.

I caught the game yesterday and had a few thoughts.
First, I hope Maddie's sister can shoot it as good as she does. Definitely not going to miss her and Macy next year. Stars.
Second, that out of bounds call late in the 4th that went Syracuse's way was bad. When the announcers noted the refs "must have seen something we didn't" it was just plain mind numbing. Myah was clearly out of bounds and the ball hit the floor before it hit her. The fact that it delayed the game as long as it did, only to get the wrong result was and remains inexcusable. There has been far too many stoppages and delays due to replay which has led to poor officiating. Make a decision. I can't help but feel like some of these officials simply enjoy the spotlight. I know the lady who officiated the Yotes/Rabbits women's at the Summit Tournament sure enjoyed showing everyone how flexible she was with her obnoxious leg swings at the scorers table right before tip off. It definitely generated a few laughs and eye rolls in my section from red and blue fans.
Third, as much as it hurts me to say, Oregon better be ready because this team has the ability to beat them if things are clicking.
Fourth, Dear Big 10 and Big 12, there is a pretty decent women's coach up the road from us that could use a nicer house and a bigger paycheck. Wisconsin has a nice ring to it. 11-20 in 2014-2015; 7-22 in 2015-2016; 9-22 in 2016-2017; 9-21 in 2017-2018; and 15-18 this year. =)
