Lee didn't want the recruits Smith had coming in, besides Griesel. Lee made that clear to the two recruits that went to Utah St. Smith might not have recruited those guys to a Mountain West school but felt responsible to them when USD no longer wanted them. I think Smith would have been happy for USD to want those guys and to keep those guys. Notice, that the only one USD did want did not end up at Utah St.

Notice, that the only one USD did want did not end up at Utah St. True, but I do recall Griesel being recruited by Utah State. I found the post I made about it last year: Mike Sautter, the Omaha World-Herald's recruiting guy had interviewed Griessel, and he confirmed that Utah State was recruiting him with Smith and his staff there. The link doesn't contain the same video anymore, unfortunately. I should have transcribed it.

Deng Gau on the market, .... grad transfer... fits Lee's recruiting profile.... from Sioux Falls..... I think a school to the north would be more aggressive, if he is allowed to stay in the conference.

Might be hard to choose a Summit school with the chance that an appeal would not be granted. Can't say I agree with the rule, but seeing that it's in place why take the risk?

Honest question - why would Geu transfer to USD or SDSU? What does he gain? He is already on a team that should be the expected SL leader heading into next season. Unless he can't stand the coach, I would guess he is looking to take a shot at a bigger conference.

Exactly gopheryote. I'm sure lots of guys look at what Mooney has accomplished this year and are enticed by the "what ifs" of replicating a similar outcome elsewhere. Deng was good. I wish him the best, but am happy to see him Geu. I mean go.

Boy, second guessing that decision to hire an assistant yet? The continuity that many expected sure doesn't seem to be there.

I know nothing about this kid, but with a power name like Kanon Koster he has to be good.

I know nothing about this kid, but with a power name like Kanon Koster he has to be good. He was Kearney's stud freshman this last year. Will have to sit out a year.
