We got the 6'11" Nebraska transfer. So Brady Heiman is coming here? Official word? That would be a great pickup. I know Smith was after him big time when he was in high school and was bummed when he committed to the Huskers. Thank you Hoiberg. I'm not pissed at you for taking over for Miles anymore.

So who knows about Heimans game? What do we think he turns into offensively? Possible all summit guy? Good to get a guy we were after before he decided on the huskers.

It probably wasn't even this staff that was after him out of high school, so it's very good to see him like USD under two different staffs. Anyone know if Heiman will fight for immediate eligibility? I saw something about a possible waiver since he was asked not to return by Hoiberg.

It's incredible just how much brighter the immediate future and beyond has become recently:
Kanon Koster, an electric true freshman guard scored 16.5 ppg at Kearney, decides to transfer to USD.
AJ Plitzuweit finally gets his offer to be a Yote after scoring 14.6 ppg as a true freshman at Augustana.
Umudue shocks everyone and turns down big time offers to remain at USD, instantly becoming the likely favorite for conference POY as a junior.
Brady Heiman, a 6-11 "center" who played in 30 games for Nebraska as a true freshman, is also coming to USD and may even be eligible to play this season alongside Hagedorn. At the very least Hagedorn will have Heiman to push him in practice.
Nevermind that part where we also have 4 senior guards this year. We're looking pretty good in 2019 and beyond.

The future has certainly brightened considerably in a short time span.

Put me in the camp that believes we don't *need* to play Brady right away. I hope that we are attempting to get the waiver for depth purposes, but that we anticipate redshirting him. His comments sure seem to reflect this. A year of training with AJ and Kanon, along with time in strength and conditioning could do wonders for him.
A friend of mine that played college ball is familiar with many of the Nebraska players. He thinks the world of Kanon's game and athleticism. He also thinks that Brady will fit the Summit perfectly. The question was posed to him how Brady compared to Gilbeck from WIU. His comment was something to the effect of, Brady is more skilled and athletic, Gilbeck is much stronger and probably always will be. The comparable stat is, Gilbeck came in at 250 lbs and a freshman, Brady was 215 lbs.

The USD web sites lists 17 on the roster. Which ones are not on scholarship? Isaiah Smith, Caden Hoffman, Kanon Koster for 1 year, not sure who the 4th would be. Either someone that we signed is not coming or someone taking a year witout a scholarship like Koster.

Either someone that we signed is not coming or someone taking a year witout a scholarship like Koster. I was thinking A.J. was doing the same as Koster. Taking a "greyshirt" year, then on schollie after that. I could be wrong. I don't think that has been officially announced yet. This is allegedly (according to some posters on here) what was offered to Freidel as well, and he refused. Again, I don't think any of this other than Koster has been confirmed. The math does add up, though, with the scholarships. And that embarrassing YouTube clip is consistent with an indignant Noah... I think there might be some truth behind it. We probably won't ever get a straight answer with regard to Noah, but if A.J. is taking one for the team, we should know that at some point. Pretty commendable, if true. A.J. was not lacking in D-1 offers.

It looks like the team gained a bit of height. It will be interesting watching the team grow together this year!

Isaiah Smith not listed on the roster anymore. Is it just me, or does this look like Mooney's lost twin?

Any further word on Heiman's waiver to be eligible this year?
