This next weekend will be a defining one for the conference race. Right now USD Denver and Omaha are the front-runners, and whoever comes out of this weekend unscathed should have the upper hand. Friday 7:00 PM vs Omaha 9-7(2-0) (video) (stats)Massey prediction: Yotes win 3-0 Sunday 1:00 PM @ Denver 9-5(1-1) (video$) (stats)
Massey prediction: Yotes lose 2-3 Personally, I think Massey is wrong on these predictions. I think we win both matches 3-2. I think home court is weighted too heavily in the formula. Omaha isn't going to get swept out of our gym, and I think these 2019 Yotes are just too solid to crumble in Denver.

The one intangible not mentioned here is that last year the Yotes pushed through the mystique of playing and winning at Denver. I am hoping that levels the playing field and helps the Yotes succeed.

Wow. Coyotes looked like they were going to sweep, but the Mavs fought for five sets. They will be a handful at Baxter. Nice finish, Yotes!

There will be those games when the offense is not clicking on all cylinders and last night was one of those night. You have to give Omaha credit as they found a way to slow the Yotes down. The defense played well with 13 blocks and held the opponents to a .159 hitting percentage (10th time in 11 matches). The one thing that sticks out from the match last night and I have mentioned this before was service errors (13 last night). Coach Williamson likes to be aggressive on the serve to get the opponent out of their systems but last night it made the match too close. When it is all said and done the team managed to get through with a win.
I believe we have now become accustomed to what to Elizabeth Juhnke and Sami Slaughter bring to the table night in and night out, but tonight Madison Harms really stepped up both offensively and defensively. (10 kills & 6 blocks) Aimme Adams played a nice game getting 4 kills and hitting over .500. The team has some depth and they needed it tonight. It will not always be pretty but they went 1-0 yesterday. Now on to Denver. This match should really test the Yotes ability to forget about the previous game and come out and play the hearts out and bring home a win from Denver. A win could put the Yotes two games ahead of Denver Go Yotes!!!
P.S. The other undefeated team in Conference (Ft. Wayne) lost 3-0 to NDSU last night so the Yotes currently stand alone at the top of the Summit. They have worked hard to climb to the top but as we all know, it is much easier to get there then it is to stay there.

Coyotes defeat Denver 3-2 in a very back and forth match. All I can say is they found a way to win in Denver again. (Last year during the Summit League Tourney and today). The offense didn't have a stellar match but the team did enough to win. Enough Said!!! Coyotes 4-0 in conference. They now play SDSU (4-12) in Brookings and NDSU (7-9) in Fargo. On paper it seems easy enough but remember when we play the Rabbits they always give 110% and NDSU gave Ft Wayne their lone conference loss in Fargo, so they will test the Yotes. Coach Williamson will prepare the team well this week and I am confident the team will be ready for the matches. Go Yotes!!!
