Just thought I'd start a combined men/women Summit League thread. Why combine them? IDK. Why not? For those of us without the Midco Sports channel, I'd highly recommend getting both an ESPN package in your cable or streaming service, as well as paying the $5 per month for ESPN+. Here's why: Another bevy of Summit League basketball games set to air on Midco Sports Networklink"MidcoSN will produce 39 women's games and 39 men's regular-season games along with all 12 of the Summit League Championships' quarterfinal and semifinal matchups." "The regional sports network will once again provide its productions to ESPN to air nationally on that company's digital networks. More than 100 Summit League home games will appear on either ESPN3 or ESPN+ in 2019-20. Both of the Summit League Championships title games will be televised by ESPN. The women's title game is set for March 10 at 2 p.m. CT on ESPNU, while the men's title game is set for March 10 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2." The cheapest way to get ESPN is with SlingTV. I think it's at $25 right now. I use HULU Live, mainly because Sling doesn't carry the Big Ten Network (BTN) or Fox Sports channels. That's $45/month, but includes the regular Hulu subscription that we would have been paying for anyway. Better than cable, IMO.

Anybody that enjoys watching any of the Dakota schools basketball games and lives in an area served by Midco should subscribe to Midco rather than any of the streaming options. Despite cost savings with streaming in some circumstances, cable is more convenient, but more importantly, it helps fund the costs of producing the excellent broadcasts on Midco Sports Network. Kind of the old adage "you get what you pay for'. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

Kind of the old adage "you get what you pay for'. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Somehow, I doubt that Midco offers up their programming to ESPN free-of-charge. If they do, then I guess that's on them. I'm not going to pay more for cable if I don't have to. Cable companies have been screwing subscribers for decades, and I'm very happy that alternatives exist. Why pay more for something you can get for less? This is America, where consumer demand should drive media offerings, not the other way around. Midco is a successful regional business. They do a great job. If they are offering the programming to ESPN where it can be watched with streaming services, I'm sure they are being compensated in some way. It's not like I'm stealing it. On the other hand, streaming TV can sometimes have a lag time. With live sports, that can be an annoyance to some people. Not a big deal to me.

Quick, legitimate question: Does ANYONE actually think NDSU will win the conference? Not smack, I just don't get the love. They are even ranked in the College Insider mid-major poll.

If they didn't get hot and beat the 5, 8, and 2 seeds for a tourney bid last year I don't think they would have gotten any love in the preseason polls. I don't get the hype.

Although they do have the bulk of their roster back, I really don't get it either. I thought they were at best a very average team who happened to get hot for a few days in March and greatly benefited from a few upsets, most notably the downing of SDSU by Western. Obviously, in mid-major world that's all it takes though. Give them credit...they did what they needed to do. The team I really think has a high ceiling this year is Oral Roberts, but they always seem to underachieve for some reason.

Oral Roberts took Oklahoma State to the wire. 78-75 with 2 seconds left, but OSU ball. I think these guys should be our biggest obstacle to a conference title this year.

NDSU has seniors vinnie & tyson. very valueable for a backcourt in a guard centric league.
Rocky Kreuse and Sam Greisel will be better this year.
1 NDSU, 2 ORU, 3. SDSU. 4 USD is my opinion. sdsu got lucky last night at cal baker.

I can reasonably understand your 1 & 2, ndsu made a good run at the end of last year and returns much of their roster. ORU is usually dangerous. But what makes you think sdsu is the 3rd best team in the league? Just curious.

He's threatened by USD and travels board to board talking smack about the teams he is threatened by (if he isn't banned).

Cal Poly leads NDSU 33-30 at halftime in Fargo.
Cal Poly was picked dead last in the Big West preseason poll by a very wide margin, went 4-23 against D1 teams last year, and are missing two starters today. Yeah, I'm not sold on NDSU. Teams with that many players returning are supposed to be in full swing at this point in the season. This would be a very bad loss if this score holds.

43 seconds left and NDSU leads 69-65, which is about their biggest lead of the second half. Cal Poly has missed too many free throws down the stretch. Not at all impressed with NDSU today.

I was kind of hoping SDSU would beat Nebraska - I didn't like how they got rid of Miles, and then more or less pushed most of the players out. So of course it is Huskers 36 Rabbits 14.
