Sjerven needs to spend some time in the gym shooting free throws

NU misses the easiest shot they have taken this entire quarter. Duffy rebound and fouled up 1. (Makes 1 of 2, now up 2)

Clutch rebound by Duffy at :25, then was fouled.
Duffy hits one, Yotes with a 2-point lead.
NU used final Timeout to get to advance the ball.....

14-0 run and then NU hits a 3 pointer. She has hit 5 of them today. 1 point lead with 11.6 seconds remaining.

Duffy does her best Alison impression and puts them up 3.

Lamb fouls 3-pt shooter just prior to the shot. 3 seconds left. Smart.

Wow. Not a pretty win but a gritty win. We will take it!

Good for the Yotes for figuring out a way to win when down 10 with under 3 minutes to play. Now, never play like that again....

80-76 win. Holy crap. Heart attack game. That was actually probably a good experience for playing in the Summit. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Summit team shoot 10-22 from the arc on us like NU just did. That was a weakness last year, so it will be good to be challenged there. We definitely will be vs. Drake.

Monica's steal and three point play really turned the tide of the game. Seems fitting an Arens makes an effort play to really get USD back in it in the 4th.

Sjerven with 4...sounds like the officiating is something to be desired Well, it was the refs first game of the year too, so I would call it 'rusty'. To me it looked like the east coast crew wasn't taking kindly to Coach P being pretty vocal and in their face early, and we didn't get a 50/50 call the rest of the game. The only truly blown ones I noticed were the 10 second calls. One was called as the shot clock was switching from 22 to 21, and the other was called and after the clock stopped, it was still on 20. Same scenario in the 4th quarter but with NU's ball, clock hit 20 then they called a timeout.

My wild-@ss guesses... Yotes win 78-50 80-76Leading scorers Duffy, Sjerven, Lamb (Duffy, Arens, MacKeever)15 steals, including 5 for MadMac, 4 for Sjerven, 3 for Kunzer (10 steals, 3 Mac, 3 Arens)4 blocks for Sjerven 1 block30 turnovers forced 16 TO forced2 3-PT made by Korngable (Mac and Duffy with 2 3-pt)Just to make this about me.... not a great prediction. I'm used to our defense tightening things up. We probably are missing Alison there a bit. I think our FT game will be fine, though. If we don't turn the ball over so much, that game is wildly different.

On a bright note, here's Duffy's stats:
22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. 58/67/86 shooting
Sjerven was one rebound from a double-double.
We out-rebounded them 37-22
