Saturday, Nov 9 1:00 PM (one hour before Football Game) on ESPN3
Pro tip: Would be a good game to have going during the tailgate, especially since you can stream ESPN3 on mobile devices.
Massey has us losing 60-62, but this early in the season it basically looks at how last year's teams would match-up in Green Bay. Graduating Alison could be a factor in what will likely devolve into a defensive bloodbath. Last year's game in Vermillion was literally an insane rock-fight. Should be entertaining!
I will have to look at what Green Bay returns to render a prediction. I know they were picked co-champions in the Horizon League preseason poll for the first time in, like, ever. Normally they are first. Last year Wright State took their auto-bid, and they weren't selected as an at-large. My gut says this game will be low scoring, physical and very close. If we turn over the ball as much as we did against Northeastern, ... not good.

Karly Murphy played with Hannah and Maddie for one of their last seasons in AAU, with North Tartan. She’s a very sweet girl but a very tough competitor. She has dealt with ACL issues but she had a great game the other night.

Last year vs GB we had 30 free-throw attempts to their 18. That and our 43-22 rebound margin was the difference in the game. Something to keep an eye on.

Also worth noting that GB had 88 points at the end of regulation (eventually won 111-105 in 2OT) against Central Michigan in their first game. It felt like GB would need 3 games to score that much last year.

Two assists shy of a triple double for Duffy.... but she missed four free throws. Very disappointed

I bet if you told her she played a great game that’s exactly what she’d say too 😂

Another good game for Monica too. She has played a big roll in the first 2 wins. It will be interesting to see how much those younger kids play as we move forward. Limited minutes for the freshmen and sophomores so far.

Limited minutes for the freshmen and sophomores so far. Those 3s she hit in the third and the drive to beat the shot clock were huge. Just got that Arens knack for making plays when you need one.

I think a big key was our defense of Karly Murphy, keeping her from scoring. Our girls denied her very well. She had 10 points at the end of the first half, and only finished with 12.

Seems like there were some designed plays for Duffy towards the end of the game. I know they were wanting her to be the FT shooter, but I mean besides that. I could be wrong.

I think this win is going to help us a lot later on. If I had one area where I think we need to clean up a bit, i think it might be fouls and still a few too many turnovers. But it’s still very early in the season and on the road so not all kinks are naturally worked out yet.
Also really not a fan of GB’s arena, maybe it’s better in person, but on ESPN it just looked like the seats were so far from the court.
