UMKC doesn't join the conference until next year. This is the last game before conference play starts.

I was hoping to see Simpson play but I guess I will have to wait.

This season is rapidly turning into an enormous disappointment. We will not have a winning record in the Summit League with effort like this.

I can't even watch this team without Simpson. This is just embarrassing.

For crying out loud... Would normally say we dug too deep a hole with the long scoring drought, but sometimes the other team hits a 25 footer to win the game.
I only saw the last 4 or 5 minutes - why wasn't Umude in the game?

Fought all the way back from an 18 point deficit to tie it with 8 seconds left, only to let the one guy who everyone knew would be taking the final shot for UMKC make a 3 pretty much uncontested.
I had hoped that if Simpson was going to be out for an extended period of time that we would see the team learn how to succeed without him and become stronger for having had this experience. Can't say it looks like that has happened. I'm not expecting much from this team if we don't have Simpson back soon.

What other player may be missing with an injury other than Simpson. Simpson, Jovic, and Goodrick Jovic is not injured, and I wouldn't necessarily say that Goodrick is injured either.

For some reason, Umude was really struggling today. It happens sometimes...hope it doesn't happen again. We lost this game in the first couple minutes of the second half when UMKC outscored us 9 to 0. First four possessions we managed only one shot and had three bad turnovers, while the 'Roos converted on four of five possessions. It was an extremely physical game and we didn't seem to adjust to how much the refs were letting them play in the paint. We are simply going to have to get more physical if that's the way it's going to be called. On a positive note though, about halfway through the second half, Hagedorn got smoked on a shot attempt inside that wasn't whistled and for some reason it seemed to really piss him, and the rest of the team, off. From there on out we matched, and even surpassed their aggressiveness and it brought us all the way back. Unfortunately, UMKC hit four of their last five three point attempts, including the game winning bomb by the guy who hadn't scored the entire game. Nice comeback, but shit happens when you dig yourself that deep of a hole. I think Simpson is supposed to be back for conference.

Simpson, Jovic, and Goodrick Jovic is not injured, and I wouldn't necessarily say that Goodrick is injured either. I don't have any inside info. However, shortly after I typed this, the sponsored injury report - which i find to be a completely ridiculous Sanford idea - was about Goodrick, and that it could be a longer-term one.
